Soundwave's Secret (Transformers)

Chapter 32.

Iacon was a rather big city but despite of being one of the Autobot centers it was exposed to the Decepticon territories more than others did. However, it was also one of the best protected centers, its population consisting mostly from military bots, engineers and medics.

With the planet having changed due to the revolution the life in the city changes too. Its streets and building were no longer fulfilled with crowds and most of the areas were no longer used at all – concentration was by the wall that needed protection if the unlikely attack would arise. Decepticons rarely got close as getting through the walls was not the aim possible to achieve, at least not yet. Though that did not mean that enemy troops never bothered.

Soundwave has been introduced to Iacon by a mech whose talk actually managed to capture her attention. Jazz did not meaninglessly lead her around pointing at the areas and building with the lack of knowledge, nor did he perform a lecture. He talked about the lives of the bots that once lived there, where was the crowd at and where it moved, views of the walking and driving bot rows, smells, lights, sounds. Though Soundwave did not miss the slipped displeasure when he mentioned the lack of emotions in the crowd, whose views he described with admiration. There was that one phrases she captured, "They moved without living... If only they have looked around..." And then his optics lightened again and he moved on, pointing in other direction, with a short laugh remembering another interesting fact about the area.

That was several days ago.

Her team had left the city once, escaping the monotonous pressure of the base that was still a stranger to them. Moonracer tried to approach her twice but both times was called back to the med bay. Talks with FirstAid happened as well and they were longer. Soundwave would usually meat the mechling during his break times. The young bot's optics would always brightened with excitement whenever he noticed her presence and, honestly, Soundwave found that amusing. Of course, that was mostly the result of her making a real conversation with him and using her real voice but it was still nice. May be she should have indeed start talking with more bots... But that was not in her plans. Not any time soon. Well, with WheelJack she could make a try... With Moonracer it seemed to be a success as well... But Soundwave did not feel like revealing. Not yet. Reason? It could cause the unwelcoming results of different kinds.

Once again, she was on the roof level of one of the building with Lazerbeak, enjoying the calmness of the late morning breeze as she listened to its quit melody fulfilling the air of height. And next to her stood that certain young mech anyone would have been surprised to see by her side if someone ever had bothered to pay attention.

"I've never been to this roof level before... It's calm here."
"As long as fliers are not in the sky..."

FisrtAid smiled, "True..."

The young mech looked at the older femme with no visor covering her featured. Soundwave seemed relaxed, her optics closed as she enjoyed the calming wind. She was always like this whenever he saw the femme without her visor. It was not usual and FirstAid guessed that she just avoided any risk. He could understand her reasons but it was pleasing to see Soundwave's expression, her reaction to what he said and being able to capture her look. She was concealed yet calm and never cold. She would sometimes look at him with this deep, knowing and, as FirstAid saw it, wise look and he would gladly listen to what Soundwave said, any story she told beccause, despite the knowledge FirstAid believe the femme carried, she acted with the equality and consideration he rarely met. He felt free with Soundwave. Free from judgment.
