"Ace." She whispered. "Ace, wake up."
"Hmm?" He groaned as Taiga continued to support him. "Ah, did I fall asleep again?"
Taiga nodded.
And then he suddenly became ever so aware of his position. His arms wrapped around Taiga's waist, his face buried in her shoulder. His face flushed, and his ears were tinted pink.
Taiga could see his ears in her peripheral vision, and she found it adorable.
"C'mon sleepyhead, go to bed." She said softly.
"No. I don' wanna." He whined, pouting.
Taiga huffed. "Fine. Stay here then. I'm going to sleep. Goodnight, Ace."
She quickly gave Ace a sheepish peck on the cheek, and hurried back to her room before he could say anything, leaving Ace a blushing mess with his hand up to his cheek. Just like when they first met and his cheek was cut, his hand was resting on his cheek gingerly, as if he were trying to catch the remains of her kiss.
He found himself smiling like an idiot.

Taiga laid on her bed with her head buried in a pillow.
"Why did I do that, why did I do that, why did I do that??" She muttered, tossing and turning.
Why do I feel so warm and fuzzy on the inside...? I don't get it. My spirit shouldn't be letting this happen. Is this what they call love...? I don't get it...ARGH. OK T QUIT THINKING ABOUT IT AND JUST GO TO SLEEP.
She shut her eyes, allowing herself to drift off.

Taiga yawned as the sun peered through the window, casting Warm rays of light on her half-asleep face.
Rubbing her eyes, she got out of a bed and got dressed, following her routine of flicking a coin into the fountain of her shrine. At this point, it was all just muscle memory. She's pretty unconscious in the morning so she can't really think about too many things other than "I'm hungry."
Washing her face, she walked into the mess hall, waving good morning to Ace, Marco and Thatch who were out on deck. Grabbing a sandwich for breakfast, she caught Ace's eye and he beckoned her over with a wave of his hand.
Taiga dragged herself towards the three, munching happily on her sandwich. "Yo."
"Good morning Taiga~" Ace said, grinning like an idiot as usual.
The other two chuckled and greeted her as well.
"How's the crew been treating you?" Marco asked.
Taiga shrugged dismissively. "Shit, to be completely honest. Understandable though, I am the type that isn't understood and accepted very easily."
"Really? How so?"
She huffed. "Secrets that don't involve others, honestly. Maybe I can tell you one day, but not today. But truth be told, I wish I could tell the world. It's burdening to keep this all to myself."
"Then tell us!" Thatch exclaimed.
"ThEn TeLL uS!" She mocked playfully, earning a glare from Thatch. She sighed. "It's not that simple. I can't say much to people outside of my race."
"The Crystallians, right?"
Taiga scowled at Ace. "Not meant to be said aloud, but yes. I am a Crystallian, and the last Ice Conqueror of them. I can bend ice, snow or anything similar by will. No devil fruit, no magic. It's kinda scientific actually. There's a part of our DNA that makes ice or snow react. But I'm sure you guys aren't here for a science lesson."
"But what if we are?" Ace asked sarcastically.
She smirked. "Then y'all are nerds."
The three of them laughed and Taiga followed suit, giggling softly.
Once the laughter died down, she excused herself. "Ah, well I'll be taking my leave now, see you guys later!"
As she turned and left, Ace was quite disappointed, and it was quite evident on his features.
"You like her don't you? Known her for three days and already head over heels." Thatch snickered. Marco scoffed.
"It's much more than that." He added. "Do you know what Ace said when we first encountered her? He said, 'Did you see her? She was so beautiful and mysterious. I really wanna learn more about her.' If that's not love at first sight, I don't know what is."
"Oh shut up..." Ace grumbled.
So what if I'm in love...?
