That boy... He looked at me and sighed.
My alarm clock rang with the small sound of a bird chirping. I blinked hard and rubbed my eyes.
That dream again. Why did it keep coming back? Who was that boy? I sighed and rolled out of bed. I had school.
School. Torture devices for your brain, killing your self-esteem, and the unglue that holds together society. The only thing keeping us all together is friendships. I smiled as I thought about Kali and Jene and Liz... All our lives where heck before we met one another, and now we're best buddies. I laughed and pulled on a school uniform. Education can be hades.
I packed up my bag and grabbed an orange out of a bowl on the coffee table.
"Time to go, Syd," My sister called from her place at the front door. I strolled downstairs and yelled back up to my mother.
"Goodbye!"
"See you! Have a nice day!"
"You too."
We ran out the door to school.
At the front door to school, we conversed with our friends before they let us inside.
During History class, my eyes began to droop. I promised myself not to fall asleep until science. That was still a long way off. I sighed and listened to the teacher.
A time later...
It was finally science class. As the boring professor droned about gases and atoms, I closed my eyes...
That boy... He looked at me and sighed.
"What are you going to do now? You know your identity.... You killed people! So what now?"
He shook his head. "What now?"
Another voice came from behind me.
"She's not going to wake up anytime soon, so just give it up. Brainwaves and heartrate are normal, but I don't think she can hear anything you say. But if you insist, you should probably go to Stella next."
Stella?
The boy nodded and pressed a key on a laptop that came from seemingly nowhere. All faded into a mass of black.
I woke up, and silently got my phone from my pencil case. Then I sent a text to Liz off in the other class.
Dude, go to the bathroom. I have something to tell you.
Why the frog do you want me to go to the bathroom!?
Just do it!
I raised my hand.
"Can I go to the bathroom?"
There was a dismissing wave. I left.
I met Liz in the bathroom. She looked a bit annoyed.
"This better be good. We were getting into Japanese culture, and the teacher had even looked up some Sgt. Frog clips!"
"I've been having these dreams-"
"Dreams?! Come ON, I had to leave Sgt. Frog to listen to your stupid dream?!"
I shushed her and told her about the boy.
"So? We subconciously dream about so many things, there's a dictionary that interprets dreams. That boy was probably-"
"A Stella was mentioned."
She started. About six months ago, we had found a letter adressed to a Stella, and it contained Liz's birth certificate, a few of her personal photos, and a letter containing some things only Liz could know. Since then, I nicknamed her Stella.
"Stella?" She said.
"Yeah. And everything seems important. Maybe it's some secret thing aliens implanted in my brain!"
"Doubted," Liz seemed skeptical, but I could tell she thought it was interesting.
