~Stella (A.K.A. Liz's) POV~
When she said the name Stella, I froze. Stella. I knew who this person was, but I didn't know how or why. I had also been having dreams but I had decided not to tell Syd about them. It was to dangerous. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, I would feel eyes one me, watching my every move. When ever this happened, I stayed still, not moving a muscle. Syd was about to say something more when I clamped my hand to her mouth. Her eyebrows came down, making a face as if to ask 'What the Hell?' I slowly released my hand and leaned in to whisper in her ear.
"I need to tell you something. But not here. Someone could hear." I said quickly. I looked around the seemingly empty bathroom and grabbed Syd's hand, leading her out. I towed her upstairs to our lockers and started to gather my things, explaining my plan to Syd as I did so. "Okay. We're going to go to your class and you will leave your things outside. After about a minute, I'll pop my head in and say that the principal wants to speak to you. You'll grab your things and come out. Then, we'll do the same thing for me. Got it?" I asked, locking my locker and turning to her.
She nodded and locked hers. We jogged down the stairs and to her classroom. She dropped her pack by the door and slipped inside. I quickly counted to sixty and opened the door. Mr. Macky, her teacher, looked up from his book and over to me. "Um, the principal would like to see Syd." I said quietly, not comfortable with all of the people looking at me. He nodded. "And take your things." I added, before disappearing and grabbing my own pack off of the floor. Syd came out and grabbed her own pack and we started at a brisk run to my class.
We did the same for me and next thing we knew, we were at the front doors, laughing at some untold joke. "Girls! Where do you think you're going?" A voice asked from behind us. I froze and looked to Syd.
"Put up your hood!" I barked before putting up my own, throwing the door open and running out. I laughed as we ran towards my Moped. Syd and I were both fifteen and we both had our temps but my parents where loaded. I mean, mansion loaded! I knew they weren't my real parents, but when I tried to think of my old ones, I drew a blank. I threw my pack in the basket in the back and hopped on, starting the engine. Syd followed my lead and wrapped her arms around my waist.
"Go go go!" She yelled over the roar of my small but loud moped. I hit the gas and sped out of the parking lot. When we were about a mile away from the school, I pulled over and killed the engine. "What's up?" Syd asked.
"The sky." Was my immediate reaction. She glared at me and I just smiled back. "Sorry, reaction. But I can't drive without my sunglasses. It's a hazard and a law." I explained. (A/N: Okay, the whole "The sky" Thing goes to my friend LANDSQUID. We were talking and I asked her that and that's what she answered. . . So yeah. . . Thanks for the idea buddy!) She nodded. I went to my basket and grabbed out two pairs of sunglasses, handing one to Syd before sliding my pair over my eyes. I jumped back on and looked back to Syd.
"Ready?" I asked, a goofy grin on my face. She smiled back with a slight nod. "Autobots, ROLL OUT!" I screamed and gunned the engine. The wheels squealed in protest but finally gripped and sped down the road, heading towards my secret hide out, where no one would ever find us. Last year, my father bought a cabin in the middle of the woods. No one other than the government knew of its location.
As I sped along, thought stirred in my mind. Who was this mysterious boy Syd was dreaming about? Who was Stella? Why were we dreaming of these things? Why? That was the main question. Why was this happening? "Liz!" Syd screamed in my ear. I gasped and swerved to our side of the road. "What the Hell was that?" She asked. I shrugged.
"I'm just tired." I answered. I heard her sigh quietly as I sped up, just wanted to spill my guts. Everything was just building up and It was giving me a headache. I groaned and pulled hard left onto a dark forest path. The dirt and dust flew up behind us, causing me to cough. Syd patted my back as I stopped the moped, still coughing. I put my hands up. "I'm good. The dust always gets me." Syd chuckled and slid off the back, putting her glasses in the basket and grabbing our packs. She tossed mine and me and I caught it, throwing my glasses by hers.
"So, where are we?" She asked, looking around the seemingly empty forest. I grinned and walked to a barely visible path.
"My father, he owns a secret cabin. No one knows about it other then my mother." I explained. She nodded but turned to me.
"Then how do you know about it?"
I smiled evilly.
"I have my ways. I love to sneak around the mansion at night, listening in on my parent's conversations." Syd sighed and shook her head. "I know, I know! I'm an evil child! I'm filled with power." She punched my arm playfully and I ran ahead of her, laughing. She ran after me, but I was faster. I flew out of the forest and dug my keys out of my pocket, my breath coming short and ragged. I slid the key into the lock and slammed open the door, running inside and not bothering to shut the door.
"Don't be a chicken!" I heard Syd yell, but I was already in my hiding place. She would never find me! It was genius! Genius. . . I gasped and held my head in my hands at the sudden word. What the. . . "Found you!" Syd yelled, flinging open the cabinet door. I was hiding under the sink. . . Okay, not the best spot ever. . . The sudden light caused my small headache to explode and I fell out of the cabinet and onto the cold tile floor. "Liz?" Syd asked quietly, knowing something was wrong.
"Genius!" I screamed out. Syd's eyes seemed to go blank at the word. That word! What was with that word?! Syd blinked repeatedly until she bent down next to me. "Aspirin." I whispered, the pain receading slightly. She nodded and left, going to find the bathroom. As I lay on the ground, one thought ran through my head. What was with the word? I closed my eyes and sighed, falling into blackness, also known as a dream.
The boy sighed in front of me. "I will never understand your minds! If only I could dissect them. . . " He chuckled and smirked at me. The scene changed and I was standing sitting on the ground, outside of the old abandoned factory, firing guns at the ground. The scene shifted again and now I was over someone's shoulder, his shoulders shaking slightly with laughter.
"LIZ!" I gasped and sat up, my eyes unfocused. After a moment, my vision came back and I looked around for Syd. "Geez! You are a heavy sleeper!" She complained, holding out two small pills and a cup of water. I took the pill greedily and gulped down the water, wanted the pain to leave me forever! I laughed evilly and Syd eyed me. "What was that dream about?" She asked me. I sighed and explained. "Wow. . . The boy, what did he look like?" She asked when I finished.
"Well," I started. "He had black hair, and his eyes! Oh my goshshasha! One was the prettiest blues you will ever see and the other was the deepest hazel! I can't get them out of my mind!" Syd smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, same here." She sighed and plopped down next to me. "So, why did we come here?" She asked. With a sigh, I looked around one last time before decided it was safe enough to tell.
