Okay! let's get started!
I groaned and stomped my crutch down on the ground. "But Mum! It wasn't my fault!" My mother shook her head and crossed her arms. She might have been a 'Hard-light hologram', as Artemis had explained it, but she was still my mother. "Please?" I resorted to begging.
"No. I let you go and you end up breaking your leg! I never even knew where you where or what you were doing or anything! You don't even know what shock I went through when your friend Syd came to me and asked to use a jet! Then it crashes in the middle of the ocean and no bodies are found!" I rolled my eyes, turning away from her and walking to the elevator. "Where do you think you're going?!"
"My room. I need to be alone for a bit. Love you." I laughed, shutting the doors and leaning up against the wall. Syd was at her house, talking to Jene and getting ready. I had to come here to pack and I didn't plan on my mum being here. Just a setback, that's all. I hobbled out of the elevator and into my room, grabbing a bag from my closet. I dropped my crutch and sighed, slipping my leg out of the boot. I had to lie to her about my leg. It still hurt to walk, but I would live. I limped over to my dresser and grabbed a random arm full of clothes, stuffing them in.
"Honey? Are you okay?" My mother asked from the hall. I darted over to my door and locked it quickly, biting my tongue so I wouldn't make any noises of pain.
"Peachy! I'm changing, so I'll be out in a few." I yelled back. I faintly heard her walking away. I went back to my dresser. I grabbed a small box from the top, opening it with a faint sigh.
"Well, I'm surprised you didn't hide that better." I jumped back, pulling a small pistol from the holster hidden under my shirt on my hip, pointing it at the person behind me. "Liz! Chill!" Artemis shrieked. I sighed, putting the gun away and shoving the small, necklace into one of my pockets.
"Don't ever sneak up on me unless you want a bullet in your heart." I hissed. "Now, why do I have a necklace that is an F in Gnommish?" I asked, walking past him and grabbing more clothes.
"I don't know. I was wondering that same thing when I saw it the last time." I sighed and sipped up my pack.
"Well, we should be finding out soon, as fast as these memories are coming." I told him. He nodded towards the door.
"Where is Allabelle?" He asked, referring to my mum.
"She's downstairs I think. We'll have to go thought the window. I'm guessing that's how you got in?" He nodded again. "Kay, let me write a letter real quick then we can go." I grabbed some paper and a pen, scribbling down a note and putting it down neatly on my pillow. I walked over to the window, throwing my pack over my shoulder.
"Wait, are you sure you can climb?" Artemis asked, making me roll my eyes.
"I have a sore leg. I'll be fine. Let's get out of here before she comes back." He sighed and climbed out, disappearing out of sight. I followed, looking back on my old room sadly. This was it. I closed the window and followed Artemis down.
"Um, Jene? What are you wearing and can I have that Bazooka?"
Jene laughed, handing me the large bazooka and leaning back. "It's my battle gear! I made it myself." I rolled my eyes, looking over the Bazooka with a glint in my eye.
"This reminds me of Lucus." I whispered to myself. Artemis looked up, shocked.
"What did you just say?" He asked, and I raised my eyebrows.
"Nothing."
"Are you hiding something?"
"Nope."
"Well, I'm going to find out."
"What ever floats your boat."
"Shut up."
