We Remember

Liz began.

"I've been having dreams too. Ones about the boy with the differently coloured eyes, ones about a certain warehouse, places I've never been, but seem to know. People I've never met, but seem to have relationships with."

I nodded. "Me too. So far I've seen the boy, a woman, two different adults, a warehouse, and a mansion. But I think that mansion might have been yours..."

There was a sort of silence as we contemplated what we had just told one another. Then, without warning, Liz asked me a question.

"Where did we meet?" She asked. I was startled, but began the tale.

"On the sidewalk walking to the YMCA. You bumped into me so hard we both got a broken rib. Then-"

"Stop, stop! That's not how it went."

"How then?"

"We met at that halloween party in 2011, remember? You had dressed as that weird steampunk cyborg, and I was a-"

"That is not at all how it went," I laughed. "How about, when did we meet? We'll say it in together. Ready, One.....Two.....Three!"

Right then, in unison, we said the date we had met.

Then, "That day?"

"Yeah!" Liz tapped her forehead like she was just remembering. "Seventh grade was when we first became good friends! And then you and I..." She trailed off. "I don't remember!"

"We might have met that boy then. Heh. How do we not remember that year? It's like someone cut a piece out of our memories."

"You called him cute," Liz suddenly accused me. "You said he was a bit cute."

"I never said that! I thought it!" I yelled. Then I clamped my hand over my mouth.

"What the flip?"

We were silent for a few minutes.

"I remember now," Liz murmured. "We were running. From the boy."

"Why would we run from him? He seemed so kind."

"Looks can be decieving," She rubbed her cheek.

"In that case, you're a crazy psycopathic killer!" I gave her a attack hug. "And I'm a maniacal evil genius."

Genius.

"GENIUS!" We both yelled. And Liz laughed.

"That was so weird!"

I felt elated and content, like my mother had died and I had just found out that she was still alive. I was guessing Liz felt the exact same way.

We laughed histerically, the noise filling the empty room and making it feel alive. Finally, we were so worn out, we collapsed on the floor and I sighed.

"We still haven't figured it all out. I think we need to investigate further. First, lets find out who this boy is, and lets try and remember anything else about that year."

Liz nodded.

"I hope the boy is good. He seems that way."

I rubbed my forehead.

"Lets hope so."
