A Kid? Really?

Jack's P.O.V.

We were sitting at a table at a fancy restaurant. It was Mark and mine one year anniversary day. He woke me up with a five star breakfast and now this. I couldn't have wished for more. I sort of felt bad because of what I got him. I got him a few new games he really wanted and a custom pair of headphones. He got me all this plus chocolates and flowers. He made me feel so happy.

He ordered a steak and I order a chicken salad. He told me to order more but I didn't want diner to coast a fortune.

"Jack... I have a question." He says still eating.

"What is it?" I ask looking up at him slightly.

"I was thinking... We've been together for a year...."

"Yeah..?" I ask putting my fork down.

"Do you... Maybe... Wanna adopt a kid with me?" He asked.

My heart started pumping fast. I didn't know how to react. I felt like I was gonna throw up I was so happy.

"Y-yeah. Sure. Yup. Of course." I said nodding my head.

"W-we don't have to if you don't want t--"

"I do. I just... Don't know how to react to that. It's never happened before."

"I know. So... You're okay with it." He asked.

"Yeah! 100%" I say smiling.

"Do you wanna a boy or girl?" He asked.

I thought for a moment, thinking it through.

"I'm good either way." I say smiling.

"That's good! So am I!" He says smiling back. "Tomorrow I get the paperwork. It's gonna cost a lot but I may or may not have been saving up for like 3 years to adopt a kid."

I laugh and eat more of my salad.

"Really?" I ask in disbelief.

"Yeah. I mean... I always felt like I wanted to have a kid and adopt a kid... But for obvious reasons I can't have a biological child."

"Yeah. But adopting a good." I says laughing softly.

~~~Time Skip to Next Day~~~

"Jack! Get in here!"

I run into the room to see Mark filling out adoption papers.

"That was fast."

"Dude. I've had these papers filled out since like 2016. You just need to sign your name and I'll call up the orphanage to make sure our appointment is still on." He says handing me the papers.

I smile. I've never seen him this dedicated before. He's more dedicated then YouTube. Which was hard to beat. I sat down and grabbed a pen then started to fill out the paperwork​. Mark went into the hallway and talked on the phone. It took twenty minutes but I finished all the paperwork. It was a large stack. Mark walked in and looked at the papers to see everything was done correctly.

"Okay. Let's do is. Our appointment is in 2 and a half hours so let's leave, get some food, then head over to the orphanage."

"I love how much you want a kid!" I said as he pulled me out of my chair.

"I've always wanted a kid. You have no idea." He says letting go of me to put his shoes on.

I throw my shoes on and Mark practically forces me to have him piggy bag me, throwing me on his back. I chuckle and grab onto his back as Mark runs outside. Mark runs into the hallway locks the door be hind  him. Making sure he had the papers before locking the door behind him. He licks the door and runs down the stairs and into the drive way. He puts me down once we were beside the car and he unlocked it. I got in and he did right after. He started the car. That goofy smile never leaving his face.
