That one right there?

That's Alicia and Michaell!

~Prominence~

I let my feet slide into the soft, warm sand, the waves crashing against my legs. The sun beat down onto my head as I simply leaned back and thought about my ‘past friends’.  I did want to get to know them again, yet now as I thought about the whole thing in general, one car accident shouldn't ruin a life of friendship. Zayn and Liam both seemed very sweet, eager to help me regain my memory; Jacob and Cameron, well they were one of the sweetest boys I have ever met, and Vanessa--Vanessa was amazing. Yet I remembered so little of them, to the point they were almost strangers, and that bothered me the most.

"Hey," a soft voice said from behind; Zayn.

I turned around and smiled slightly, "Hey, what're you doing here?"

I took in his appearance; He wore khaki shorts with a black v-neck, and he was barefoot, like me. Sweat clung to his forehead, and for some reason, I found that attractive.

"I actually had a feeling you were here, so I—uh—just came to see if you were okay,” he laughed lightly.

~Zayn's POV~

The moment I saw her, my face broke out into a smile. She leaned back against the sand with her feet in the calming waves of the ocean. Her glossy blond hair cascaded down her back while she chipped one of her nails, a habit I recognized from her. I chuckled quietly; I knew she would be here. This was our place, after all. I made my way to her quietly; I wanted to surprise her.

"Hey," I said softly as soon as I had reached her.

She jumped a little at the sound of my voice, but turned around after a second and smiled, "Hey what're you doing here?"

"I actually had a feeling you were here,” I scratched the back of my neck, “so I—uh—just came to see if you were okay,”  laughed slightly. You're such an idiot Zayn. Of course she's not okay, she's lost all her memory,  and she was just biting her nails. How stupid can you get?

"I'm fine, as always," she tilted her head slightly, "I just left you guys an hour ago. Why wouldn't I be okay?"

I looked away uncomfortably, searching for some ridiculous answer, but all that came out was: “Uh-h . . . I . . . Well . . . Yeah.”

She giggled. Oh great, now she’s laughing at me. Why are you such an idiot? At least she’s laughing, though.

"At a loss for words?" She asked, giggles still within her.

"Yeah," I chuckled along with her, "Hey, actually, I was wondering if you . . . .” my voice faltered. The words seemed to be stuck in my throat. Damn it, just ask the girl already! She stared at me expectantly, "I wanted to know if you could come over tonight so I could help you with your memories?” Why did that turn into a question? “I mean, I have tons of pictures. I think at least one of them would ring a bell, to you.” I shifted my weight uncomfortably. She didn’t speak for a few seconds, and I started to panic. You're an idiot, Zayn; a complete, utter idiot.
