Recap:
An annoying ring echoed through the house, stupid doorbell. I already knew who it was, and I was not happy about it.
"What Michael?" I asked in an annoyed tone as I opened the door. I was glad my voice came out as annoyed, rather than shaken or scared or even heartbroken. It wasn't as if I still loved Michael, but he was the boy that had scarred me of my love life.
"Can I come in?" he asked softly.
I glowered at the wall, "No."
"Can we talk?"
"We are talking. And I don't like it. If you mean to talk even more, the answer's still no." I mentally gave myself a thumbs up. Be in charge; don't let him take advantage of you.
"C'mon, we do have something to talk about. I mean, you did fall asleep on my lawn," his irritating chuckle echoed throughout the house.
"If I had known it was your lawn I would have never fallen asleep," I snapped, "I was tired, and all I was thinking about was sleep."
"I still think we should talk.."
"About what, Michael? What the hell do we have left to talk about?"
"Ali.." He said my name quietly, as if he was about to break, "I want you back."
---
I admit it, I laughed. I laughed when he said "I want you back." But what was I supposed to do? What was I supposed to say? It's funny how he thinks he can just say I want you back and he thinks I'll come running back to him, so I laughed.
"What's so funny, Ali?" He growled.
"The fact that you--of all people--can come to my house and expect me to come back to you,” my voice was now serious.
"Well, you did come to my house and sleep on my lawn." He pointed out with a smirk.
"It's not your lawn, it's your parents lawn," I snapped. Great, I sound like a second grader, "Technically it's not your house, it's your parents house." Yupp. You're really on a roll there Ali.
"Oh, so we're getting all technical here, are we?" He took a step inside my house, "Well in that case, technically we never broke up, neither of us said we're done. So technically we're still together."
I let out a nervous laugh, "We are definitely not still together. I would never go back with an ass like you."
"C'mon, you don't really think I'm an ass,” he pouted.
"Yes she does," a familiar voice said from behind Michael.
"You don't know sh*t, Evans," Michael snarled at Zayn.
"Well, she is my best friend isn't she? And I don't really think she wants you to be here, so I suggest you leave," He gestured towards the drive way, "Off you go bud."
Now Michael turned from my house and towards Zayn. "Stay out my business, you're not a person to tell me when I can see Alicia, you don't know whether she wants me to be here or not."
