A mess. That was how her mind was. Once she realised her true feelings towards Zayn she freaked out. She liked him, she did but that had to stay hidden forever. Her father would go mad if he knew that his daughter likes a patient in his hospital. She never wanted it to be that way but Zayn was constantly pulling her to him, he was magnetic and she was letting him pull her.
She let out a deep sigh before finally entering her office, the office that she's been standing infront of for about half an hour now. She closed the door behind her and turned. She was met by a tall body sitting on her couch, his head hanging. He didn't hear her coming in, that was for sure but why was he even here?
She walked over to him, the sound of her heels echoing through the room making Harry look up at her in surprise, a lazy smile made it's way over to his face at the sight of her.
She stopped right infront of him and crossed her arms over her chest, looking down at him with narrowed eyes. He looked down at his hands before standing up, now, she had to look up at him.
"What?" She asked him, her voice tense and cold. Her eyes didn't meet his, instead, she was looking straight at his white coat. She didn't want to look at those eyes, the eyes which managed to lie straight to her face about something so important.
"Perrie, look at me." He spoke up, his voice rough and raspy as if he didn't talk for hours, she crossed her arms over her chest tightly still refusing to look him in the eye, she was stubborn, he knew that and he had to deal with it.
"Look at me, stop being stubborn." His voice made her eyes move to meet his green ones. He looked tired and had black bags under his eyes, she knew she was giving him a hard time even though he came back a few weeks ago but she just can't help it. She's furious.
"What do you possibly still have to say?" She raised her eyebrow at him, her lips pressed into a flat line. He let out a breath he was holding, relaxed that she was willing to listen to him.
"I couldn't tell you straight away, Perrie. I was hurting, myself. she was my mother after all and by the time i was almost okay I just couldn't put you through the pain. You know you matter to me the most. I can't just drop the bomb on you like that." He uncrossed her arms and took a hold of her hand, squeezing it in his. she looked down at their hands before closing her eyes with a sign.
"It hurt knowing from someone else." She stated, still not meeting his eyes. She tried to free her hand from hia grip but he just held her hand tighter.
"It probably did but you have to understand my point of view. You already lost one mom, i can't bear seeing you hurting over another one. I just wanted to protect you, that's all I ever wanted the moment I laid my eyes on you." He whispered the last part but she heard, her heart clenched painfully in her chest, remembering how warm Anne was with her and how much both Harry and Anne loved her.
She sighed and nodded her head, not really having anything to say. It's been years. Anne and Debbie died so, now what? They only have eachother so they better keep their friendship steady, they're eachother's family anyway.
"But," He looked down at her confused, "I need time to forgive you completely." He sighed and nodded his head, this is all he could get for now and he knew it.
"Thank you for giving me a chance." He smiled before kissing her cheek and walking out of her office before she could even answer him, her gaze was fixed infront of her as she thought about how rough her life is for her, a manipulative father, a dead mother and working in a mental institution where people depended on her that it comes too much sometimes because she feels responsible for every single patient and that was hard, running around the hospital like that.
