The room fell into silence, the guards were slowly waking up while Zayn's feet were set firmly onto the floor making both Perrie and Jerry back away from him. Jerry's eyes focused on Zayn, trying to read his body language.
Zayn's eyes were bloodshot, his once hazel beautiful eyes are almost black by how dark they look. He looks scary and the small steps she was taking backwards out of fear made Jerry even more alert.
He was strangely calm, looking at the floor with a distant look making Perrie take a brave step forward which caused Jerry's eyes to widen and shake his head quickly, telling her to back off.
She ignored him though but didn't dare to move any closer, his eyes were hovering over the floor, glaring at it. She is confused.
How could he be so calm when she's sure that every single patient should wake up very violent and aggressive? He should be destroying everything that comes in his way but instead he was glaring at the floor.
Did they destroy his humanity or is there some of it left in him that stopped him from doing anything he'd regret?
"Zayn.." She whispered, loud enough to be heard by him. A low growl sounded as he clenched his jaw and gritted his teeth like an animal. She called him again making him turn head towards her causing her to obviously gulp.
"What are you doing?! Stay away from him!" A guard yelled at her, his eyes wide at the scene. Jerry was watching Zayn carefully, trying to expect his next move but he couldn't, his body didn't give away anything, he was just still with his head turned to Perrie.
The guards took a few steps towards Zayn but he didn't notice them as he was glaring at Perrie's eyes. His expression fighting between softening and furious.
"Zayn, it's me." She softly told him, her hand reaching for him. His eyes watched her hand closely and alert but even though he was tense, he didn't try to stop her.
She was unbelievably close to him, her hand clutching his and her blue pupils glaring at his bloodshot hazel ones. Her other hand reached to his face, cupping his cheek.
"Fight it and don't let it win. You're strong, Zayn. the one I'm talking to right now is my Zayn and no one else's. My Zayn would fight this and defeat it, he'll survive. My Zayn is a warrior."
the hand cupping his jaw caught the few tears that escaped his eyes, his eyes softening the more he listened to her words and the more he stared into her eyes.
A guard yanked her away from him making her yell in protest and push at his arm but no use which caused Zayn to suddenly growl in anger and lash out at the guard. Jerry's eyes widened and looked everywhere, not knowing what to do.
Jerry immediately took a hold of Perrie who looked at him wide eyed, "Save that guard!" She yelled at him but he was only pulling her away from the monster Zayn had become.
"Let's just go, Perrie!" Jerry said through gritted teeth, Perrie yanked her hand away from his fist and gave him a warning glare, telling him not to stop her.
"Zayn! Stop!" Jerry watched as she rushed back to Zayn's side, deciding that it's either he brings Alexander here or his niece's life will be in danger.
Zayn's fists collided with the guard's face in mercilessly hard punches, knocking him out consciousness. Yet, he didn't stop.
"You're going to kill him, let him go!" Perrie screamed at him, trying desperately to stop him from doing anything stupid but he wasn't listening to her, all he could think about that this piece of shit dared to lay a finger on her.
She grabbed his shoulder and pushed at him making him look back at her in anger, she did flinch but didn't move away. His whole body relaxed and a frown took over his face as he looked down at his hands clutching the guard's collars then back at her.
"Let's go. Quick." She told him and extended her hand towards him, without hesitating for a second, he took her hand and both started running out of the building with guards behind them.
They managed to get out of the building but the guards were really close behind them, Perrie bit her bottom lip as she looked behind her then back at the road infront of them.
"Where are we going to go?" He asked her, his voice hoarse. His bloodshot eyes were wide and alert, his body tense.
"Back to the hospital."
"What? We can't go back there. This is like going to the devil's kingdom." He whispered-shouted so no one else could know where they plan on going as they picked up speed together, trying to get away from the doctors and guards following them.
"They think we're going back to my house, we can't possibly go there. And if not my house then they'll go to Harry's so we can't go there, either." She explained quietly, looking over her shoulder to check if they were still being followed and luckily, they lost them.
She slowed down a bit to catch her breath making Zayn stop, he let out a relieved sigh as Perrie placed her hands over her knees.
"We can't stop longer, they'll find us." Perrie said breathlessly. Her blue eyes meeting his hazel ones for a brief second before moving her head away from him to catch her breath.
His chest fell and rose heavily as he glanced around them, making sure no one is in sight. "Take your time. I won't let you die trying to save me."
"I won't let you die because of me." She was nearly breathing normal now as she stared at him, letting him know that she meant every word.
"I'm not, that's not true." He furrowed his eyebrows, trying to convince her otherwise. His heart picked up speed at the thought of losing her, his mind flashing pictures of her pale blue lifeless eyes looking up at him caused shivers to run up and down his back. He won't let that happen.
"Alexander is my father. He injected you with God knows what to turn you into a monster! You were going to give in back there!"
"You saved me, Perrie."
At that, her angry eyes softened as he gave her a small smile, she shook her head. "What if you wake up like that again and I'm not around? What will happen then?" She asked, desperately praying that he has an answer to that.
"You'll always be around, I trust you. I know you'll never leave." He assured her as he took a hold of her hand and pulled her to him, she let out a sigh as she clutched his shirt in her fist.
"If I didn't show any interest in you, you would've been safe. It's all my fault." His free hand cupped her cheek smoothly as he shook his head.
"It's not your fault, Perrie." He added her name just to make her know that he wasn't talking to or imagining anyone else before pressing his lips to her own.
