Gray's left arm was wrapped around my shoulders, laying on his back. My left hand rested on his bare chest next to my head and my right arm was tucked underneath his back, his hair was messed up from my hands being there last night. Nothing but a sheet covered us. I looked at the clock on his bedside table. It was midnight.

I yawned and shifted a little in my spot then closed my eyes, drifting off to sleep once more. Yesterday's events flooded my mind, good and bad. I dreamed the same dream a couple of times but they all ended differently and all the endings were good ones. I wondered if that would be true in the future.

A little later...

There was a knock at the door, my eyes fluttered open but Gray remained sleeping beside me. The knock came again along with my sister's voice saying, "Elizabeth?"

I sat up in the bed, "Ya?" I said as I stretched and yawned. I looked at the clock and it was 8 in the morning. I groaned and laid back down, hoping to get at least 2 more hours of sleep.

Ava opened the door a little bit, enough for me to hear her voice clearer but not enough to actually see in the room. "It's Saturday and Mike and Jess are here with your...mission appliances."

I jolted up, softly tapping Gray's chest to wake him up, he rolled over and said, "Leave me alone." with a lousy wave of his hand. I sighed and got out of bed, getting dress then walking to his side of the bed and jumping on him. He jolted awake. When I jumped, I landed right on his stomach. "What was that for Izzy?"

"You weren't waking up." I kissed his lips, "Come on, it's Saturday." Gray's eyes went wide and he moved out of bed, I blushed at the sight of his naked body and looked away.

Gray chuckled and cupped my chin in his hand, my eyes meeting his, "Stare all you want." He kissed my nose, "It's like the hundredth time you've seen me like this."

I smiled, "It has not been that much." I kissed his lips, "Now, get dressed, we have work to do."

He kissed me one more time then went to his bathroom to take a quick shower and get dressed. I walked to my room and ended up doing the same, Gray and I stepped out of our rooms at the same time.

Gray looked as handsome as ever dressed in faded blue denim jeans and a black t-shirt showing off his muscles. I simply wore light blue skinny Capri pants, a white California shirt with palm trees and my mint green converse. I took his hand in mine and we walked down the stairs, Ava was talking to Jess about her fashion designs. After all, Jess was her aunt too, Mike adopted both of us once our mother passed.

Jess seemed amazed at all of the designs. Her and Ava talked for an hour, I had to interrupt them a quarter to noon. "Guys, we have to go. You can talk about fashion later." I said while swinging mine and Gabe's hands that were still interlocked.

Jess sighed and turned on her heel, "Right. We have fathers to catch." She hugged Ava then walked out the front door. I waved goodbye to my little sister and then walked out of the house with my hand in Gray's. Mike followed shortly after.

We all gathered in Jess's car. She drove while Mike sat in the passenger seat. Gray sat to my right in the backseat and was looking out the window, absently moving his fingers up and down my leg.

The only sounds were the short conversations Mike and Jess had every now and then, and the soft noise of the radio. Gray seemed far away, even though he was sitting right by me. I rested my head on his shoulder for about 10 mins and then we pulled into the parking lot.

I got out of the car and started walking towards the entrance when a  hand pulled me back. I looked over my shoulder and saw Jess, with her hand on my arm.

"What?" I sighed and turned around to face her, her hand dropped off of my arm.

"You can't go in there without a way to communicate." She handed me the earpiece that connected our comms to one another.

I rolled my eyes, "Right. I forgot we're at the state fair to capture bad guys and not to enjoy the fair." Gray let out a small laugh then put his own earpiece on. He walked up to me and grabbed my hand

"Let's go have some fun." His small smile was back on his face and I couldn't help but smile too. We turned around and started walking to the entrance, but, once again, I was interrupted.

"Wait you two." Mike called, I groaned and looked at Mike. Gray's smile grew bigger and he laughed a little more.

"What is it now?" I said, "I get we're here on a mission but can't I have a little fun while tailing bad guys?"

Jess crossed her arms and gave the 'mom' look that all women have, I smiled at the sight, "You of all people should know what we do hardly includes fun." She said.

"Ya, I know." I released Gray's hand and walked over to Jess and Mike, then pulled up a holographic image from my bracelet, showing us the map of the fair. "Alright. The assassins will most likely be here, here, and here." I said as I pointed at some rides and food stands. "I say my dad will be by the food. He always was a sucker for the food from other traditions." I lifted my shoulder a little, "Which you can always get at the fair."

"There she is." Mike said.

I scoffed and said, "I never left." I changed the holographic image to the pictures my mom got when she was tracking the Assassins, "I just wanted to have some fun for once." I mumbled.

Gray put his hand on the small of my back, "Since when do you think that what we do isn't fun?"

I tilted my head a little to the side in agreement, "Good point."

I told Mike and Jess where to go and how to act, they nodded then walked off. I told Gray my plan and we walked into the fair, holding hands. I bought cotton candy and we walked through the grounds. We kept a sharp eye out for any of the Assassins or any suspicious activities.

I spotted a man in black jeans, a black t-shirt, and black shoes. He was muscular and had jet black hair. I immediately recognized him, "Dante." I whispered, Gray looked at me then at the man I spotted and called, "Dante!"

Dante turned around and smiled at us then walked over to us, "What the hell are you guys doing here?" He held up one finger, telling us to hold on a second. He double tapped an earpiece then brought his hands back down in his pockets then looked at us for an explanation.

I shrugged, "We're just a couple who wanted to go to the fair, is that bad?"

Dante's eyes widened in realization, "Well, don't let me keep you waiting." He looked over at a stand then said, "By the way, you should check out the smoothie stand. They have really good smoothies." He winked then walked off. I looked at Gray and he nodded, we headed off to the smoothie stand.

Jess's voice came through my ears. "Iz, do you have anything?"

"No." I looked at the people sitting by Gray and I, then caught sight of Joshua, "Actually, hold on."

I whispered to Gray, "There's Joshua. What are we gonna do?"

Gray looked at me and said, "This." He turned to his dad who was on his right and said two simple words, "Hey Dad."
