I unlocked the door to the house. For some reason, I kept the key. I didn't allow the estate to buy or sell this house. It was too special for anyone else to live in it.

Gray followed me into the house, I put my keys on the counter, Gray still had my car keys. As a spy, I never carried around a purse, I had what was necessary. I only used a purse if it was needed. I stopped in the kitchen, looking at the scene in front of me.

The table was turned and cupboards were opened. I looked at the back window. Grayson was about to walk closer to me but I stopped him.

"Wait!" I said then turned around, "Don't move."

Gray looked at me and said, "Why?"

I looked over at the wall to my right, "Someone's here. They set up a laser beam." Grayson looked at me then took something out of his pocket. I knew what it was, I used it all the time.

He dumped some light brown powder in his hand and then blew it into the air. Laser beams started appearing everywhere. I maneuvered around the island, careful not to touch the beam, to get to the deactivation box.

I reached the box and took off the lid. It was a simple process, I had to disconnect the red wire from the blue one and put the yellow one in the red one's place. I looked over my shoulder to see the beams disappear. I was about to move when I heard a soft beeping noise.

"Grayson!" I yelled, "Duck!"

Just as I yelled duck, a bomb blew up, destroying my childhood kitchen. After the smoke cleared, I found my face close to a chest, a familiar smell came to me. It was Grayson, he was holding me in his arms, "Are you okay?"

I nodded then coughed "I'm fine." Pieces of drywall were in my hair and dust was all over my clothes. I sighed then got up from the floor, Grayson's hand in mine.

Not letting go of his hand, I guided us through the wreckage and into the living room. I saw a person's silhouette by my mom's office door. Gray must have seen it too because he let go of my hand and moved forward. I started checking the floor for the passage way I needed.

Just as I found the spot, I heard a gunshot and then the sound of a falling gun, along with a person. "Gray!" I moved from the spot on the floor and to the office. I saw a man unconscious and blood dripping down Gray's arm.

"Gray!" I rushed to him, "Are you okay?"

He took off his gray jacket that he was wearing. He was wearing a white t-shirt, his muscles on his arm showing. I looked him up and down, checking out his body. It looked even better than the night before. I shook my head to clear my thoughts, now was not the time to get distracted. "Ya, I'm fine. It's just a flesh wound." He replied.

I took his jacket and folded it then went out of the office and ripped a piece of fabric off of one of the white sheets that were covering a chair. "It may be a flesh wound but you still have to keep pressure on it," I said as I was walking into the office again. Gray was leaning over the body, checking his pockets and making sure he didn't have a comms unit (Communication Unit). I put my hand on his arm, he stopped checking the man and turned to me. I pulled him closer to me, inhaling his familiar scent,  so I could wrap the wound on his upper right arm. God, it felt so good to have him close to me. After I got done, I let him go, "There. There's the pressure."

I moved to the person who was unconscious on the floor and took the comms unit from his ear, I held it up to Gray. "Comms. That means..." I trailed off as I spotted the gun on the floor.

"There are others." Gray finished for me. I nodded and picked up the gun then checked the ammo. I tossed it to him.

"Hold on to that." I threw the comms on the floor and stepped on it, breaking it into tiny pieces. "There's about 20 or so bullets left. We may need that." I walked out of the office and motioned for him to follow me.
