3 | Chapter Three

Kennedys POV

Finding out I was pregnant was hard, I didn't want to believe it at first but I guess I finally have came to terms with it. I booked myself a ultrasound for today before work today, better sooner rather than later since I don't even know how far along I am, I might even be further than I think. The morning of my appointment I woke up early with the feeling of sickness hit me so I rushed out of bed and threw up in the bathroom.

It was too early for me so I decided to just stay up anyway knowing I'll not get back to sleep now, my appointment was at 9am today and then I was going to work, I'm ready now and I'm going to be able to manage a whole day. I got myself dressed into a pair of stretchy leggings which sat in the middle of my bump which was starting to show, I added a simple flowing tank top and added my black high tops. I decided to put my hair into a high bun to keep it out of the way.

Once I was dressed I left my room and went into the kitchen to make myself a strong coffee, I really needed one after getting hardly any sleep last night with the stomach pains and feeling sick it was hard. While in the kitchen I hear my phone ping and Alicia's name pop up, I wonder what he wanted so I picked my phone up

From Alicia

Hey Kens, fancy walking into work together today? - A x

To Alicia

I've got a appointment before I start today's I'm starting a few hours later since the appointment is at 9 sorry - K x

Okay, see you later then - A x

I put my phone down and sighed heavily, only myself and Iain know about the baby, I couldn't bring myself to tell anyone else not just yet, after the scan today I want to tell Ethen since she will be its Uncle after all and then I will tell everyone else. I had my drink and then checked the time, I had a hour until my ultrasound. I sat on my sofa with the Television on for awhile which I finished my drink. Half an hour later I finally decided to leave to the hospital for my scan. I got a taxi today and made my way to the maternity ward.

"Appointment for Kennedy Dean" I signed in at the reception before taking a seat in the waiting room with other pregnant women with their partners. It got to me that cal wasn't here and would never be here to see his son or daughter to grow up. I honestly would love to have a little boy so I can name him after Cal, I mean I'm probably only 12-16 weeks but I've got the perfect names planned out but time will tell.

"Kennedy Dean" I heard the midwife call so I stood up and walked to the room

"Help Kennedy I'm Aleah Jones and I'll be your midwife during your pregnancy, so could you hope onto this bed for me and we will get this underway." Aleah smiled, she honestly seemed like a genuinely nice woman. I hopped onto the bed and awaited instructions

"So Kennedys I'm going to need you to role your top up for me so I can put this gel on your stomach. It will be cold" aleah explained and I nodded leaning back with my top rolled up and ready for the scan. Aleah puts the gel on my stomach and I flinched slightly at how cold it was. She explained more and I listened and nodded as she got this probe thing and began rolling it over my stomach revealing my baby on the monitor

"So by the looks of the scan your around 16 weeks pregnant and it looks like your having twins, we won't be able to tell the sex of them just yet but I can get you a print out of the scan if you like." Aleah tells me shocking me slightly. Twins, two babies; well this will be a handful I already know this I mean I'm going to be a single mother to two babies and I still will have to try and have a career.

"Here are your copy's of your scan, your next scan will be your 21 week and if you want you'll be able to find out the sex of them" Aleah explained and I nodded leaving the room and going to the reception desk where I booked my next scan and then I made my way to the ED so I could begin work. As I changed into my uniform I placed my hands on my stomach and sighed softly, before I start work I needed to text Ethan

To Ethan

Hey mate, you free for a drink later on. Need to talk

From Ethan

Yeah, what time?

To Ethan

I finish at 7 today so after that will be fine

Alright, just drop me a text and I'll meet you

I put my phone in my locker and got to work. It wasn't busy at the start of my shift but as the day progressed it became slightly busier, I found it easier and much better to keep busy than being sat at home where I drowned in my own thoughts. I still thought about Cal when I was working but not as much. Soon my shift was over and I text Ethan letting him know I was going to be in The Hope & Anchor when he's ready, Alicia was meeting us too but not exactly right away. I ordered myself a orange juice as took a seat down on my own waiting to be joined by Ethan.

"Hey Ethan. Your probably wondering why I asked you to meet you" I asked my mate nervously. I wasn't sure how he was going to take this news but I know I wanted him to know first.

"It did cross my mind" he responded trying to joke with me and I smiled

"I'm pregnant with twins, your going to be a uncle" I spoke biting my lip. Ethan looked shocked but his face soon had a smile.

"Congratulations Kennedy, Cal would be so proud to have two little ones on the way" Ethan smiled. Now I had to tell everyone else but not yet, I might tell Alicia but everyone else will have to wait. Myself and Ethan sat talking until we were joined by Alicia and my brother Iain.

"I want to tell you something Alicia, Iain and Ethan both know what I'm about to say but your my best friend I only want you there to know so far" I paused taking a sip from my orange juice

"I'm pregnant with twins, that's why I started my shift later today. I'm 16 weeks" I smiled resting my hands on my stomach for the millionth time today. Being pregnant is already a crazy experience but I know it will be one I'll love
