Living A Nightmare {Casualty}

6 | Chapter Six

It's hard to believe how fast time flys when your pregnant but how slow time goes when your with someone you don't want to be with. My ex Joshua is back in my life and he's worse than ever but I can't tell anyone. I've left my flat and moved in with Joshua but that's not by choice either. I'm 8 months pregnant and the twins won't have a life if I stay with Joshua. I start maternity leave today but I have a ultrasound, that's when I'm going to try and talk to Iain.

Your probably thinking Kennedy why are you with Joshua if he makes you so unhappy. But the truth is I don't want to be with him, he's threatening me, he has said he will take my babies when their born and I'll never get to see them. I can't let that happen. Joshua went into work early so I took my chances to go to the hospital without him. I decided to go to the ambulance shed hoping my older brother would be their.

"Iain" I spoke softly seeing my older brother was just putting things in the back of the ambulance.

"Kennedy, why haven't you been answering my texts" my brother asked as I approached him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Joshua is threatening me, he's made me move in with him and saying if I leave. He's going to take the twins away from me when their born. I don't want it to happen. I'm scared Iain" I crocked feeling Iain wrap his arms around me.

"Your safe now Kens. I won't let him get to you, are you working today?" Iain asked me in a protective manner

"No, just got my last ultrasound before my labour" I nodded, Iain pulled me into a protective hug and I let a tear role now my cheek.

"I don't want him to take my babies away, they will be so scared with him" I mumbled into his chest feeling him rub my back. I felt safe in my brothers arms  and wished I could stay like it forever but before I knew it he was called out and I had to go for my scan, Iain had told me to go back to the ambulance shed when I've had my scan just so I would be safe. I sat in the mother and baby unit waiting for my name to be called, I have to admit I kept freaking out every time the door opened that it was Joshua's

"Kennedy Dean" my name was finally called and I walked into the room with my midwife, the room was cooler than it was outside. I hopped onto the bed and rolled my top up already knowing the routine. Their was a knock at the door and I looked at the door, I felt sick knowing it was probably Joshua.

"Sorry I'm late, got stuck at work." Joshua's voice spoke and I frowned. Great.

"It's fine" I mumbled as Joshua came over to me and kissed my cheek, I really wanted him to leave but he won't, he thinks this is what I want but it's not, he'd deluded if he even thinks I love him.

"So everything looks fine, your blood pressure is a little on the high side which could be due to stress, if you have any worries then give me a call or pop in" my midwife told Me and I nodded before left, I made my way down to the ED where I was going to pop and see Ethen to give him one off to three scans I've received.

"Where do you think your going?" Joshua asked me folding his arms.

"I'm going to give Ethen a ultrasound picture, he are the twins uncles" I calmly responded, Joshua pushed me into the wall and I flinched, I had a excruciating pain in my stomach immediately after. Joshua looked away for over a minute so I made a run for it, into the ED and broke down.

"Kennedy? What's happened are you alright?" Connie spotted me and I shook my head, I was frightened.

"It's Joshua, he won't leave me alone. Iain told me to meet him back in the ambulance shed but Joshua turned up at the scan" I sobbed clutching my stomach.

"He pushed me into the wall with full force and" I couldn't even finish my sentence, I was doubled over in pain as I saw Joshua walk into the ed, he saw me talking to Connie.

"Please, please get him to go" I sobbed leaning against the wall holding my stomach "get her a bed, check her out"
Connie shouted leaving me by the wall, I was approached by Duffy who was close by

"Don't go near her, im taking her home with me!" Joshua shouted trying to get past Connie to me.

"Please don't let him near me" I cried in pain. I was frightened that I was loosing my babies.

"Kennedy listen to me, we are going to have to do some tests on too, can you tell me what happened?" Duffy asked me. I was sobbing while holding my stomach

"He pushed me into the wall, I wanted to give Ethan one of the scans of the twins, he is their uncle after all" I sobbed. Just as Duffy got a wheelchair for me my waters broke, I was left in a flood of liquid.

"Right we need to get you into cubicles right away" Duffy told me and I shook my head, I knew it was the I soon, the bump onto the wall could have caused me to go into a early labour.

"I want Iain, he said I wouldn't have to go through it alone. The twins don't have their dad, they will need both their uncles more than me" I cried as Duffy began pushing me to a cubicle.

"Charlie when Iain comes in tell him Kennedy has gone into labour, the twins are on their way" Duffy told Charlie who looked at me in shock.

"You'll be alright Kens, I'll send Iain in right away when he gets back" Charlie try's to reassure me. Duffy got me into cubicles and helped me into the bed, she shut the curtains. I felt sick and leant against the back of the bed. My breathing became rapid and I was getting too hot.

"Where's Iain" I cried not realising him coming in to the room I had recently been moved into.

"I'm here Kens, don't worry you and the twins are fine, your in safe hands" Iain reassured me taking my hand, each contraction I squeezed his hand tighter and tighter.

"It's all Joshua's fault, my midwife said i was going to be able to carry them full term, I was fine other than my high blood pressure" I cried out again.

"He will get what he deserves, just focus on you and the twins" Iain calmly spoke to me, Duffy and my midwife soon came into room.

"Alright Kennedy your fully dilated which means on your next contraction I'm going to need to you push" my midwife smiled and I nodded. I began pushing and squeezing Iain's hand.

"I still would like a fully functioning hand Kens" Iain tried to joke with me, I  glared at him as I pushed again.

"Good girl, one more push and your first baby will be here" Duffy smiled along side my midwife, I pushed one more big push and was told to stop.

"It's a boy" my midwife smiled, their was no crying, my son wasn't crying.

"Why isn't he crying" I began to panic taking deep breaths, he had to make it, he was going to be one of the only things I have left of Cal, he even was going to be named after him. Soon the room was full of crying, my little boy was fine.

"He's fine, now just focus on yourself and this baby" my midwife told me as I began pushing again. Soon my daughter had been born and I was knackered.

"Have you thought of any names?" Duffy asked me and I nodded.

"Could you possibly get Ethan and Alicia first, I want to tell them both as well, that's if their not busy?" I asked Duffy who nodded. I was holding both my baby's in my arms and they were so small. They reminded me so much of Cal. Around ten minutes later Duffy returned with Ethan and Alicia.

"I would like to introduce you all to Caleb-James Riley Knight-Dean and Courtney Alicia-Paige Knight-Dean" I smiled looking down at my twins.

"And Alicia and Duffy  I was wondering if you would be their godmothers, you've both supported me since the start and I couldn't think of anyone better than the pair of you" I smiled the pair agree which made me smile. Joshua was stood outside and I began to freak, was he here to take my babies or what I didn't know.
