I'm so sorry it took so long to update but school happened. Anyways, enjoy!

Toothless' pov

"So, how did you find out you could change back?" Hiccup asks. We were sitting at a small wooden table in our cottage while drinking tea that Hiccup made.

"Well that has to do with how I told you I almost died earlier." I say then tell him everything that happened.

"Oh my god Toothless, you almost died!" Hiccup said with concern lining his words. I shrug and Hiccup gives me a disapproving look.

"Don't just shrug! This is your life we are talking about. You are clearly not accustomed to your human body so you are not allowed to go outside unless your with me. Ok?" Hiccup says.

"Yeah ok, mom" I say and grin at him. He gives me a look that says, "really?" but I can see the corners of his mouth twitch as he tries to hold back a smile.

"I'm just trying to be safe." Hiccup says

"I know, I know." I say

It was starting to get late so I stand and start heading towards the bed.

"It's getting kinda late so we should start getting ready to sleep." I say

"Where are you going to sleep?" Hiccup asks

"On the bed..." I say like it's obvious while giving Hiccup a confused look.

"You can't sleep on the same bed with me."

"What!? Why not?"

"You're a human now, it's not right."

"Why? We are both guys. It doesn't matter if we sleep on the same bed."

"Yes, but it still matters."

I sigh in defeat.

"Ok, what if I turn back into a dragon?"

"That's fine." Hiccup says. I concentrate on turning back into a dragon but for some reason it doesn't work.

"It's not working." I say

"What! Why not?"

"I don't know."

"Why can't you turn back now? What's changed?"

"I don't know but it could be lots of things. I could have a maximum amount of times I could change every day or it could be because of the time. There's lots of variables."

"I guess there's nothing we can do. Let's just try again in the morning."

"Ok, well where am I going to sleep?"

"There's an inn down the street."

I sigh again.

"No, I'll just sleep on the floor. I'll just need some extra blankets."

Hiccup brings me some extra blankets and some other things and I make the floor next to Hiccups bed as comfortable as I could. We both get into our beds, his being a real one and mine being a sad excuse for one. Hiccup leans over and blows out the candle next to his bed, his actual bed (I'm salty if you couldn't tell), and lies down.

I lay on the floor and wait to fall asleep but the minutes tick by and I just can't. I close my eyes but no matter what I do I can't keep them shut. I find myself opening them to look at the silhouette of Hiccup laying in bed then closing them again then opening them again to look at Hiccup.

It's been so long since I've slept by myself. I've forgotten how lonely it was. The floor was hard...and cold. I keep wanting to reach out and touch Hiccup but I know he isn't there beside me. I can't smell him, touch him, feel his heat radiating off his body, hear the faint sound of his breathing.

At some point in the night, fatigue finally overwhelmed me and I fall asleep only to abruptly wake up. My heart is racing and I am starting to have shortness of breath. I feel scared and numb. I need to know Hiccup is there, that he is safe, that everything is okay. Just seeing the outline of his body wasn't enough.

I couldn't take it anymore so I stand and climb into bed with Hiccup. I don't care if he gets mad at me in the morning. Hiccup has always been a deep sleeper and at this moment, I was extremely grateful. His back is tuned to me so I wiggle up close to his back and place my nose to his hair. I didn't care that I was being creepy, I needed this, I needed him.

The second his scent filled my nose I could feel my nerves melt and I feel completely relaxed. I reach over to him and place my hand on his cheek. I could feel his hot, even breath on the palm of my hand.

There is nothing else on this planet that could ever make me as secure as just being next to Hiccup. And in that position, the events of the day all come crashing down on me, pummeling me to sleep. It was this night that I realized just how addictied I was to this boy.

Hiccup's pov

I wake up to the light streaming through the window of our little cottage. It's a normal morning until I notice a hand resting on my face. I immediately turn my head and follow the arm to the body of a sleeping Toothless. A sleeping Toothless whose face is about a centimeter from my own.

I yelp in suprise reflexively jerk back, not realizing how close I was to the end of the bed. I was now falling off the bed so my natural reaction was to grab anything or anyone around me to try to keep myself from falling. I claw at the air a couple times before I bring my hands down to grab the closest thing around me that wasn't air, and that was Toothless.

So now the still sleeping Toothless was sliding off the bed with me until there was no more sliding we could do; just falling. And that's what we did. We both fall, me hitting the ground first and Toothless following. I fell with my back to the ground and Toothelss fell directly on top of me with his stomach to mine.

I burst out laughing at what had happened and after Toothless looked completely lost for a couple of seconds, he understood what happened and started laughing as well.

We laugh for a while but when I start to calm down I start becoming conscious of the position that me and Toothless were in and a blush dusts my cheeks. Toothless on top of me, his left leg in between mine, our chests pressed up against each other's and our faces inches apart. I had stopped laughing and was just focusing on Toothless.

His laugh was deep and full and when he first started laughing, he had propped himself up on his elbows, but now I guess he got tired because he laughed his husky laugh into my neck. His hot breath making his leg that pressed against my crotch that much more noticeable for me.

The blood that was headed towards my cheeks changed course and started going south of the border. I could feel a erection forming and I didn't even know why. Why was I getting an erection because of my dragon? Toothless notices and his laughter dies out. He props himself up on his elbows and grins down at me.

"Oh... what is this?" Toothless asks before he presses his leg into my crotch.

"I-i can explain. I-um...well...you see...," Think, Hiccup, Think I think to myself. What can I say to get out of this. "Something similar to this happened with me and Astrid and so it reminded me of that time and I got a little turned on thinking about her." I say knowing fully well how much of a lie that was. I see something in his eyes that I've never seen before. It looked like complete pain and disappointment. His usual bright green eyes went dim. It was like each one of his eyes were earths and I was the sun and I had just exploded, completely obliterating those green little earths.

"Yeah... of course." He said with a slight chuckle, trying to brush off the pain he just felt. I thought that he was going to get off of me but he just continued to lean over me. He just hovered over me, eyeing me down.
I saw him look down at what I think was my lips before making eye contact with me again. The pain slowly left his eyes and was replaced with something that almost looked like anger.

He roughly grabbed my chin and started to lean his face towards mine when the door to our house swung open and Astrid barged in.

Yay, cliffhangers!
So I have a question for you guys. Why do you think Toothless can't change back?
