Harry’s POV
I drove Anna back to the hotel in silence. I wasn’t sure what she expected me to say. It kind of seemed like she’d said it all. Having her on the tour would ensure many awkward encounters now that we’d had “the talk.” I parked the car in the back trying my best to avoid fans, but failing because apparently now they knew where we parked our cars as well. I took pictures with a few and signed some phone cases, standard procedure before ducking into the building.
I slowly made my way back up to the hotel room to pack up my stuff for the buses. At this point I just wanted to load up and get ready for the show tonight. I didn’t want to talk to anyone, and I especially didn’t want to talk about Anna, but I knew that would be the topic of conversation. As I approached the door I heard a mixture of voices unsure of what exactly was going on.
“All I’m saying is that, if I like a girl, I talk to her, we don’t go offering her a job,” Louis started. I walked through the door and the guys nodded in my direction going back to the computer screen they were all staring at. I took a seat on the sofa next to Niall, recognizing Chloe’s face on the Skype call.
“Harry, how nice of you to join us, since this primarily involves you it might be a good idea for you to actually be present,” Chloe said snippily.
“Sorry I didn’t realize there was a meeting,” I mumbled looking at my hands in my lap.
“Just jump in. Boys keep going,” Chloe urged.
“I’m engaged and my fiancé doesn’t even come on tour with me,” Zayn said pointedly.
Zayn got some side eyed glances on that one. We all knew he wasn’t always the most faithful, and to use Perrie as a weapon to fight whatever battle they were having with Chloe was unfair.
“When Megan comes to visit I feel like we have an expiration date on how long she’s allowed to stay before everyone gets annoyed,” Liam added.
“Yeah that’s because every time Megan comes it means you’ll just be mopey,” Niall retorted.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Liam questioned.
“It means that all you two do is fight. You fight when you aren’t together and then you fight when you are. And when you fight you put on a shit show,” Louis said unapologetically.
“This is ridiculous. Harry gets a booty call hired to work on our team, and you all attack me about MY relationship,” Liam spat.
“You don’t have to worry about her being a booty call. It’s not even like that,” I rolled my eyes.
“Boys the fact of the matter is that when I asked you for your opinion on Anna you all gave stellar reviews. I offered her the job because I took your word for it. Are you telling me that you don’t in fact think she is capable of handling the job?” Chloe asked.
“No,” the guys mumbled in response.
“She’ll do a great job,” Liam started, “I just think we’re concerned with outside interests interfering.”
This was typical Liam. He worried about anything and everything. And he ESPECIALLY worried when he had something at stake, which made me think he was unhappy Anna was coming on tour for more than one reason. Maybe her gawking at his butt wasn’t as uncalled for as I’d thought.
“Listen to me,” I raised my voice looking up, “Outside interests. Are not. A problem,” I stated simply. “Now if we’re done here I think we have a show that we would all like to get to.” I got up from my spot on the couch and walked into the other room grabbing a few of my shirts and stuffing them into my duffel bag.
