The day of the Brit awards was full of stress. The boys wouldn’t dream of letting anybody touch their hair other than Lou, so we met at a salon in the center of London so she could do their hair and all of the girls’ makeup. I rushed around with my hair done and my makeup a mess attempting to organize arrivals.

“Chloe doesn’t want everyone in one vehicle, it’s too crowded and there are far too many dresses that can’t be ripped and suits that should remain as pressed as possible. Louis, Zayn, and Harry go in one car. Niall, and Liam in the other. Got it?” Of course nobody was listening to I turned to the dates. “Eleanor, Perrie, Gemma, one car. Megan and I in another. Everyone got it now?” The girlfriends and sister nodded at me.

I took a breath and took a seat back in one of the salon chairs. Louis, Eleanor, Zayn, Perrie, Gemma, and Harry took off before Megan and I were even in our dresses, but we left not long after them. Liam, Megan, Niall and I piling into an SUV

“You girls look beautiful,” Niall smiled.

“Yeah you both look stunning,” Liam agreed.

“Just wait until he catches a glimpse of you,” Niall smirked. “Gemma will have to pick his jaw up off the carpet.”

I rolled my eyes, “Okay Niall. How come Greg couldn’t make it tonight?”

“Well he said he felt bad leaving my sister-in-law and nephew at home when he would be partying instead.”

“And there was no special girl you could’ve brought?” I nudged him. People never gave Niall enough credit, thinking that he was the good boy of the group who never even looked twice at a girl, but everyone close to them knew the truth. Niall was a complete horndog; he just kept it in check and discreet.

“Nobody that I wanted to expose to the public,” he said simply. “Besides, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss walking down the carpet with you on my arm; especially in that dress.”

I pushed him playfully and sat back in the seat trying to relax my nerves before arrival. Since Niall’s brother couldn’t make it to the show I had become his date. The ticket was still on behalf of Chloe, but Niall needed someone to walk down the carpet with since the other boys all had dates. This was just fine with me because my biggest fear was climbing out of this car and falling on my face with nobody around to help me up.

We finally arrived at the O2, and even though I’d been arriving with the boys to arenas bigger than this for a few months, the size still felt intimidating. Megan and Liam climbed out first and stood to the side of the car to pose for pictures while waiting on Niall and I. Niall climbed out and offered me his hand, which was much appreciated because the height of my heels did not help my already shaking legs to find stability.

Niall wrapped an arm around my waist and helped to hold me still while we smiled for pictures. “Just take a deep breath and smile,” Niall advised me. I did my best, draping my arm over his shoulder and smiling, but not showing any teeth, at the camera.

It’s a weird feeling having everyone’s eyes on you, and no, that wasn’t me being cocky. Every girl that steps out in any sort of public situation with One Direction should expect to come under some level of scrutiny, in this case you had to face the music immediately as we were surrounded by reporters and photographers everywhere instead of fans with simple camera phones.
