Anna’s POV
“I’m just so frustrated with him, Sarah. He shouldn’t even be here, and now he’s here and ruining Thanksgiving,” I let out a frustrated sigh as I looked at my computer screen. My communication with Sarah had been a little too scarce for my liking the last few weeks. This break was the first time that I had a minute to breathe and actually think about Skyping her, but somehow even when I wasn’t on the clock, they boys were all I talked about, one in particular. I think she was sensing a pattern.
“I’m very confused. First, you hated Harry. And then you went out with him. And then he got you a job. And now you’re claiming he ruined your Thanksgiving? You only like your family about twenty-five percent of the time anyway. What’s the big deal if he ruined Thanksgiving?”
“It’s not about the holiday. Its’ the fact that he had no right to tell Trevor’s mom that he cheated on me. It wasn’t his relationship.”
Sarah set down her bowl of soup, letting me know that I had her full attention. “I haven’t ever argued with you over your decision with how to handle Trevor, because I know it’s not my place. But honestly…it’s about time that somebody put him in his place, Anna. He deserves to be humiliated. And I think it’s kind of really cool that Harry cares enough about you to be willing to do that,” she shrugged, “That’s just my opinion though.” She picked her soup back up and kept eating. I knew I couldn’t argue.
“Why does he get under my skin like this?” I groaned.
“Because you LIIIIIKE him,” she singsonged in the most un-Sarah voice I’d ever heard.
I laughed throwing my pillow at the computer screen, desperately wishing I could hit her with the real thing, “Shut up. What’s got you acting like Dr. Phil? I figured you’d be so lonely living in the apartment by yourself.”
“Well I’m not actually living by myself…Nick kind of moved in after you left.”
“Nick? You guys can barely be in the same room five minutes without arguing about something. What…are you guys sleeping together?” I joked sarcastically.
“No. We aren’t SLEEPING together….” She trailed off.
I stared at her for a moment before it clicked, “Holy hell.”
“Don’t freak out,” she said flatly.
“You’re together and you hadn’t told me!?”
“We are just hanging out. IT happened after he’d already moved in and I’m not in the market for another roommate. Plus, you know how much he hated his old apartment. Don’t make a big deal out of this.”
I took a deep breath, “Just so you know, it’s a huge deal. But I will remain calm right now because I’ve had enough excitement for the day. You’re welcome.”
“How DID I end up with a friend as understanding as you?” she said sarcastically back to me.
