*Danni's P.O.V.*
3... 2... 1... And there it was. With hundreds of skyscrapers and thousands of tall buildings, the city wherein all my family lived in came to sight.
"What do you think about your home?" Christopher, an old butler of the family, asks me as he poured a cup of tea for me.
"Well, it's beautiful. As always." I smile at him as he hands me the cup of tea, "Thank you."
He bows, "I remember when you used to live here... As the clumsy little girl who brought me flowers that she picked up from the ground under an over-blooming tree." he chuckles and pets Thimbles' head, "You were adorable."
"Aren't I still?" I joke.
"Oh, you are." he laughs, bows, and leaves to prepare for the jet's landing.
Minutes later, the jet lands and I was out of it, Thimbles on a bag being pulled by Christopher. Ah, that cat. And after crossing that landing field, a big blue house appears before us. Geez, it looks the same. Talk about old school.
Then a black-haired woman runs out of the house and towards me, embracing me in a big hug. Is everything here big? Oh wait, she's not.
"Kiddo! I missed you so much! I'm so happy you came!" she shouts.
"Moooom. It's not like I was given the chance to say no." I whine, escaping the hug.
"Honey, say all you want but don't you dare say that in front of Gilbert. Oh! Which reminds me! He's waiting. Come on, come on." mom has a smile on as she pulls me in the house.
Christopher laughed.
-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-
Big rooms, big walls, big doors... but old school designs, old school furniture, old school appliances.
"Sweet Jesus, this isn't the 80's anymore, ma. I told you to get rid of these things before I left three years ago." I say, letting out an exasperated sigh.
"Sweetie, come oooon." but she doesn't listen once again.
"Coming." I mumble.
We enter another big room with big, wooden office doors. It was the typical office back then... with the beige carpet on the wooden floor and all the wooden drawers and cabinets... Ornamental plants certainly made it even worse.
"Gilbert! She's here!" mom bounced... like literally bounced in excitement.
"Sarah, who's-oh! My dear! You finally arrived!" he stands up from his seat and smiles, motioning me to come over.
I mentally slap myself for agreeing to come. Goddarnit. Walking forward, I look around again. Globdarnit. The room was more old school than I could have ever imagined. Goshdarnit. Definitely the worst I've seen this place.
"Dad, when was the last time that this place was even cleaned? Is that word even legal here anymore?" I ask.
"Don't mind that, hon. It was just for show!" he laughs.
FOR SHOW?! FOR SHO-WHAT THE HELL?! COME ON, DANNI! TELL HIM WHAT YOU THINK!
"Whatever, dad."
WHAT. THE. HELL.
"Come. I'll show you the real deal."
"Okay, fine, whatever." I say, following him.
You should have told her what you thought, Danni.
"Could you please stop talking to yourself?!" I shout.
"Me?" dad asks, "Oh.. sorry. I was just so happy for your arrival." he frowns and lowers his head.
"No no no no no. I wasn't talking to-wait, you were talking to yourself?" Well this is awkward.
"I.. uh, yeah... Kinda..."
I shake my head in disbelief, "Let's just go to this 'real deal' now, yeah?"
Dad nods and we continue walking.
Mom laughs and I look at her.
"Mom, why are you laughing?" I ask.
"Oh. Oh my. Nothing dear." she smiles but continues giggling.
"Ah, we're here!" dad says, "Welcome, to our grand company."
And there was this hi-tech thingy that happened. A big, steel door gracefully lifted up and revealed a bright room, a big, bright room.
"Oh mi God. Am I dead? Like, is that the light? Should I go in? Wait a minute, dad, mom? YOU HAVE A TUNNEL TO THE FREAKIN' LIGHT?!" at this point, I was screaming because my parents could possibly be monsters trynna kill me and I'm to young to die at all and-
"Honey, no! What are you talking about? This is our company!" mom says.
"Wait, what?! Your job is to kill people and bring 'em to the light?!"
"Kill people? To the light? What a silly imagination! No, we raise cats."
"You kill CATS?! Oh, the precious little things! You're exterminating the entire species! Such monsters!"
"Hun, calm down." dad puts a hand on my shoulder which TOTALLY freaks me out.
"No! Get away from me you monster! Don't kill me! Don't turn me into a cat!" I scream.
"Sweetie, no. No one's turning anyone into cats. And no one's killing anyone." dad says, "Calm. Down."
"But you said you-"
"We said we raise cats." mom interrupts, raising an eyebrow at me, "Not kill cats."
"Oh... Oh... Oh my. I'm.. Oh my God." I panic, "I am so, so, soooo sorry."
Mom and dad laugh. "Exagerration, hun."
But then it hit me.
"Wait, you raise cats?"
