Jessica's POV: I heard more thunder and I looked outside and I felt my stomach turn upside down. It was so dark and trees were blowing like crazy. I am the most terrified person of storms, sure watching lightning is pretty cool but I always think there will be a tornado.

J is for Johnnie M is for Jessica

M: I'm scared
J: It's going to be okay
M: What if there's a tornado
J: There won't be I promise
M: But what if there is
J: Do you want me to come over?
M: No...it's already pretty bad out I don't want you to drive in that
J: Okay I love you
M: I love you too
M: Can we talk to keep my mind off this
M: Johnnie?...
M: Okay I guess you're busy...

I sat my phone down kind of upset that he wasn't there but that's okay. He doesn't have to be here 24/7. It thundered so loud that our house shook a little and I screamed.

"JESSICA ARE YOU OKAY?!" My dad yelled from downstairs.

"YES IT JUST SCARED ME" I screamed back.

I heard a loud crash and I looked out my window and saw a tree had fallen in my neighbors yard. It didn't hit anything but they have an eight year old that LOVED swinging from their tire swing on that tree.

"Hey"

"What are you doing here Johnnie?"

"I can't just leave you here when you need me"

"Thank you" I said hugging him.

"You don't have to thank me"

"Well I want to"

Johnnie looked out the window and handed me my ear buds.

"Put these in and turn the music on as loud as possible"

I'm pretty sure I did this in another book

I did as he said and he grabbed my hand and walked me down the stairs and he followed my parents down to the basement.

Johnnie's POV:  I saw a funnel cloud and I knew any second the sirens were going to go off. I didn't want Jess to be afraid so I had to think quickly.

"Put these in and turn the music on as loud as possible"

She put them in and I watched as she turned the volume all the way up and the sirens started going off. I grabbed her hand and followed her parents into the basement and we sat in the corner of a wall.  I sat her on my lap and held her close to me as the wind kept picking up more and more and she closed her eyes. Maybe she knows what is happening but I don't know.

Jessica's POV:  We got into the basement and he sat me on his lap in the corner and then he hugged me. It was obvious there was a tornado or at least there was about to be but I needed to stay calm.

"I love you" I saw him lip.

"I love you too" I responded.

He kissed my cheek and I took the ear buds out.

"I'm okay" I told him.

"It won't last long" He assured me.

The sirens had stopped and the wind wasn't as bad anymore so I'm guessing the tornado was gone. We walked upstairs and looked around but nothing was broke or anything. We started looking out the windows because it was still storming so we couldn't go outside. There was a couple trees down but that was about it.

"Let's go back upstairs" I said.

We walked up and Johnnie looked out the window where he did before.

"It was right over there" He pointed.

I saw a lot of debris over there but no whole houses were torn down or anything. We definitely got lucky. We waited another hour and the storm was finally over.

"Have you finished your homework?"

"Yes"

"Alright well I have to head home, if you need me I'm one text away"

He left once again and me and my parents walked around our property to see if anything was damaged. A couple tree branches were down but that was really all.
