"Did you know about this?" James demanded.

"Know what?" X asked.

"You know what I mean," James hissed as he slammed a tabloid magazine with Nadine's face on the front cover on X's desk.

"Oh...that you'll be driving for her?" X asked innocently.

"So you did know!" James exclaimed as his hands suddenly went to his hair, tugging on it in frustration. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"Is it that bad, James?" Ivan chimed in.

"She's a spoiled brat. I could barely take any more of what she was saying, so much was just so...." James trailed off as he let out a sigh before sinking onto the reclining chair.

"So...?" Lauren asked.

"She told me she'll make me wish I never took the job," James elaborated.

"James, you've killed how many people again? Surely, you can handle that bitch," Lauren answered. "Maybe even add her to the hit list."

Ivan cleared his throat as James shook his head.

"Well, she hasn't really done anything wrong. Sure, she's irritating as most other rich kids are, but it isn't deserving of death," James argued.

"I agree," Ivan affirmed. "Despite that attitude, she's pretty hot."

Lauren creased an eyebrow as she turned to face him. "Of course you take note of that."

Ivan scuffled. "Well, it's hard to not. But don't worry Lau, you're the sexiest woman for me," Ivan said as he winked, which prompted Lauren to pivot away and roll her eyes.

"Okay, I admit that I was sure it was going to be driving for his daughter. I didn't think that would bother you so much, though," X admitted. "As you said, she's harmless. A party girl, sure, but harmless. Even if she's difficult, at least you wouldn't have to see Ron every day, wouldn't that be harder?" X asked.

James let out a breath. "I suppose that would have been worse."

He barely kept his composure during the interview and his head was bombarded with various vicious thoughts. Seeing those eyes every day would only tempt him to disobey X and kill Ron Lustre before the intended time.

"It can't be that bad, she's just a heiress who never worked a day in her life. I doubt she'd be down to getting her hands dirty," Lauren remarked as James chuckled.

"Just keep your focus," X reminded. "Right now, you need to blend in and actually work. But do not fret, soon you'll be able to get what you've been wanting. And nothing will taste sweeter in comparison," he promised.

James nodded. He hope he would be right and that he could finish the job as soon as possible.

James glanced down at his watch as he pressed a finger onto the doorbell. It was his first day and James ensured he was on time--in fact he was considerably early.

Ron had gotten him a car to borrow during his tenure as Nadine's driver--for however long that may last. The event she had to go to was not until around 10. Moreover, it was not at all far from their house. However, James had an irking feeling that she would try and do what she could to make going there difficulty. As Lauren observed, she appeared to also be the type to take a while and may in fact exaggerate to stress him out into quitting.

So there he was, standing on her elegant front porch  at 6:30 A.M. to ensure they were definitely going to be on time. He didn't particularly care for her being punctual, but it did make the job less stressful and ensure Ron gets a good impression of him.
