Hermione woke suddenly, hearing a faint wailing. She rose from her bed, regaining the consciousness lost from her sleep. She made her way out of the dormitory, noticing light coming from the common room. 'where could the noise be coming from?' she thought, making her way down the stone steps.
Her eyes landed on a sleeping figure, stretched out on the sofa, the shadows from the fire dancing on his face. Hermione instantly felt a pain of guilt, remembering how she rudely left him only hours ago. It was now apparent that he never left, and must have fell asleep. Her eyes darted to the book open on his chest, realizing he had been reading it.
She noticed him shiver, which caused a worry in her stomach. He wasn't sleeping peacefully, and she could see a sweat built up on his face, often how she found Harry in his sleep, when they were finding horcruxes.
"Draco.." she said softly, shaking him.
"No!....Don't you understand!?....I hav' to do this...I hav' to kill you...or he's goin 'a kill me!" He cried out. He was trembling terribly.
"Draco!" Hermione said a bit louder, trying to shake him awake. "Draco!"
His eyes flew open and he was breathing heavily, trembling in fear. "He was going to kill me!-"
" Draco!....It's OK.....you're OK....it was just a dream!" She took him into her arms, and he cried into her chest "He was going to kill me!-". She rocked him back and forth, not knowing what else to do. She had never seen him like this before. He was completely broken down, shaking with fear. "You're OK now.....you're OK!." She whispered, trying to calm him down. "I'ts going to be alright! It wasn't your fault."
His cries became fainter until he was asleep. Hermione sighed, her cheeks were wet with tears. It must have been an hour that she just sat there holding him. She wasn't going to let go. "I love you!" she whispered, and could feel tears begin to stream down her face in a constent flow. And she wasn't sure if she had cried this much in her entire life.
Draco never told her about his nightmares. But everyone had them, after the war at least. She never thought how afraid Draco actually was, but she noticed how terrible he looked sixth year, when surely he was ordered by Voldemort to kill Dumbledore. There was so much stress on him, and he was just a kid, like any of them. She had noticed how he became less the bully, and always had a look of fear or sadness on his face. She hadn't seen that in Draco since then.... until now. He seemed to have healed. And now, the look sickened her. She just wanted him to be alright. But of course he still felt guilty, she just hoped he could realize it wasn't his fault. That he had no choice. And that well....she understands. She did understand.....better than anybody else. She was one of the first to forgive what he had done, and tried best to always defend his actions, however bad they were. After all Dumbledore himself had seen the good in him, and realized he was just a boy. The only problem is Draco would have to forgive himself, and she wasn't sure if that was ever going to happen. He still blamed himself for everything he had done.
"I love you Draco!" she whispered continuing to rock him, more of a comfort to her than him now....and couldn't fight her closing eyes, and fell into a deep sleep.

"Aww how cute.....they fell asleep together in front of the fire" Ginny said starring at the couple with Harry beside her.
"Excuse me while I go barf!" Harry said staring at how Draco's face was pressed against his friends chest.
Ginny threw a glance at him. "Ok....sorry...I was only kidding." He said defensively.
He noticed a book lay a strewn on the floor next to the sofa. He bent down to pick it up. "Ginny!"
"hmm?" she mumbled still smiling at the two.
"Look at this book!" her eyes snapped to Harry who was now holding a large book with the words printed on the covering
Time Travel and Time Turners....Rules and Mysteries, Written by A. P. W. B. D.
"Albus Percival Wolfric Brian Dumbledore....this was written by dumbledore! And we have it!" Harry practically screamed with joy. "I wonder where they found this!?"
"The library." Ginny shrugged.
"Ginny do you understand how great this is!"
"Of course harry....it's just...you shouldn't go looking for trouble when there isn't any to look for. Sometimes things are better off the way they are. I just don't want you to get hurt Harry."
"That's it! the way things are!.....We should go back in time! All I need is to see how Dumbledore died, the night he died...I just need to see one more time."
"Harry!....are you insane!....there were many deatheaters there, plus your past self, and Draco was also there. I don't think time traveling any more is going to help this situation! if anything it will make it more complicated!"
"Trust me!"
"No! I won't let you!"
"I have an invisibility cloak, all we have to do is have the four of us go back, just stand off to the side, and watch."
"Harry!"
"I'll ask Hermione...I'm sure she will let me!" He went over to the two and shook Hermione.
"Harry?...What do you want?" she said opening her eyes.
"Can I use your time turner to go back in time?" he asked
"WHAT?" Hermione yelled getting up from the couch. "Did you just ask me to go back in time? I have had plenty time travel this holiday for all of us.......and besides.....are you completely mental?!"
"That's what I said!" said ginny who was now crossing her arms.
Draco shifted on the couch and all of them glanced at him, Hermione with a more nervous expression.....remembering the previous night. "Harry can we talk about this later?.....I think we should let Draco sleep." She whispered.
"Let who sleep?" Draco said sitting up, and combing a hand through his hair.
"Well nobody now!" Hermione said glaring at Harry.
"Listen.....I know it sounds crazy....but I just have to go back to when Dumbledore died.....then we can have the memory to study from." Harry said towards his friend.
Hermione's face hardened at the mention of Dumbledore death, afraid that this would upset Draco further. She closed her eyes and exhaled. "I said no Harry!" she spoke firmly.
There was an awkward silence in the room until Draco spoke "Potters right."
"What?" Ginny and Hermione said in unison, shock written on their faces.
"Well....He has a good point.....going back in time would help us figure out if Dumbledore is truly dead."
"Draco?!" Hermione said, as if asking why he wanted to go back.
"I also read part of the book...It's somewhat helpful." He shrugged.
"So we will go then?!" Harry asked excitedly.
"No....that is completely out of the question!" Hermione scolded.
"Well I'm going.....You guys can come or not." Draco said pulling out his time turner.
"Ill go!" Ginny said moving over to the other side of the room.
"It would be breaking almost a thousand school rules!"
"Come on Hermione? when have you cared about breaking school rules before?!" Harry asked.
Hermione stared at her two friends with boyish grins on their faces. "Alright...Fine!" she replied sharply.
"But only because with out me...you bumbling idiots would get yourselves killed." The three just smiled at her.
"Well?.....What are we waiting for?!" She asked impatiently.
"Right.." Draco said looping the time turner around their necks. And like that the common room was empty.
