Chapter 1

Kaitlyn's POV

"Kaitlyn! Wake up!" My eyes shot open to see my foster mother standing at the door. She was wearing her usual white button up blouse, her black pencil skirt to match. She was holding her fancy black leather handbag in one hand and her other on her hip.

"Mmm.... five more minutes" I groaned and pulled a pillow over my head. Blocking the light streaming through my window. Who the fuck decided putting windows in bedrooms was a good idea.

"No now, you're going to be late! My foster mother yelled as she pulled the pillow off my face. I don't have time to deal with you, I have to get to work, She reached into her handbag and grabbed her purse, pulling out forty euros and leaving it on my dresser. Use this to get a cab and buy yourself lunch with whatever is left over, With that, she left my room and a couple minutes later I heard her car pulling out of the driveway.

With a long sigh, I threw my legs over the side of my bed and got up. I grabbed my towel and headed towards the shower.

*SHOWER TIME SKIP!*

Leaving the bathroom, I went through my dresser and grabbed my black ACDC t-shirt and my casual black jeans. Leaving my room I grabbed the forty euros and my converses taking them into the dining room. Quickly putting them on I snatch my bag off the table and race to the backyard grabbing my bike and heading to school.

I dont understand why she gives me money every morning before school. Cabs are expensive. If I just ride to school then I can at least buy myself lunch and something to eat at home. My foster mother is a business woman, so she works long hours. Im sure shes only doing this whole foster parent thing for appearances. Seeing her this morning was rare. She usually just leaves money on the table with a note saying dont use it to buy drugs! Seriously, Im only ten and a half, where does she think Ill get drugs from. Though she doesn't like me its not like shes abusive or anything so Im one of the lucky orphans.

Arriving at school with five minutes to spare, I walk through the school gate and see my friend Maddy.

"Hey maddy", I waved and walked over to her.

"Hi Kaitlyn", Maddy greeted with a smile as we headed towards our lockers together. When we finished grabbing our books and stuff for class, we headed to the library, which was our friends hang out area, to wait for the bell.

When we walked in Maddy and I were greeted by our friends. My best friend Savannah and my other friends Jane, Roisin, Tiffany, Vincent, Thomas, Matt and Jamie. If they ask though, they are all equally my best friends.

"Hey guy's", I greeted as I walked over to the table and sat down next to Savannah, who was reading a book. She looked up and smiled.

"Hey Kaitlyn," Savannah greeted, going back to reading seconds later.

"What are you doing?", I asked curiously as I looked at my two friends, Jane and Roisin as they tried to rip the playing cards out of each other's hands. Aggressively might I add.

"Well, they were playing snap, until Jane ripped the cards out of Roisin's hands cause she was winning and Roisin stole them back and now they are fighting, Vincent explained, not looking up once from his notebook.

"Oh Okay, makes sense... so what are you doing then?", I asked, looking at the notebook he is writing in.

"Homework" Vincent answered, still writing in his book. 'Jeez, he could have at least looked at me when he answers hang on I then realized what he said.
