AT THE HUFFLEPUFF DORMITORIES
Being that their common room was located in the kitchen, it made sense that it was, the Hufflepuff reached their dormitories first. Proceeding past the large still life that forms the entrance to the latter, a pile of large barrels is to be found stacked in a shadowy stone recess on the right-hand side of the corridor. The barrel two from the bottom, middle of the second row, will open if tapped in the rhythm of 'Helga Hufflepuff'.A sloping, earthy passage inside the barrel travels upwards a little way until a cosy, round, low-ceilinged room is revealed, reminiscent of a badger's set. The room is decorated in the cheerful, bee-like colours of yellow and black, emphasised by the use of highly polished, honey-coloured wood for the tables and the round doors which lead to the boys' and girls' dormitories (furnished with comfortable wooden bedsteads, all covered in patchwork quilts). A colourful profusion of plants and flowers seem to relish the atmosphere of the Hufflepuff common room: various cacti stand on wooden circular shelves (curved to fit the walls), many of them waving and dancing at passers-by, while copper-bottomed plant holders dangling amid the ceiling cause tendrils of ferns and ivies to brush your hair as you pass under them.
"Wow..." Riliane murmured in a hushed whisper.
Paris nodded her head. "Yeah," she said as she looked upon the sight in awe.
Riliane looked upon her surroundings, a frightened expression plastered across her face. From across the room, a blond haired boy with grey eyes noticed her timid face. He stowed towards her, his steps long and confident.
"Are you okay...?" He questioned with a reassuring smile, crouching down to the balls of his feet, his eyes in direct level with hers.
Riliane, who did not notice the boy's presence, let out a startled yelp and spun around. The boy chuckled. "I'm sorry for scaring you. I'm Cedric. Cedric Diggory."
Riliane looked at Paris, a fearful expression on her face. Paris got the hint and stood in front of the blonde girl. "My name is like, Paris, and she's Riliane."
Cedric smiled and reached his hand out for Paris to shake. Paris took it, her grip firm, and shook it. He then extended it to Riliane, who took it hesitantly before dropping it and then lowering her head, her eyes concentrating on her feet.
"She's, like, shy," Paris reassured. "It's not like, she doesn't, like, like you or anything."
Cedric nodded his head good-naturedly. "It's quite alright," he said in a posh accent.
AT THE RAVENCLAW DORMITORIES
Klive was standing in front of the door of the Ravenclaw common room, surrounded by his fellow housemates. His breathing had become shallow, and his chest started to heave up and down erratically. They were supposed to answer a riddle? Klive had serious doubts about this. Sure he was Asian, but he doubted that he was intelligent enough to qualify for the smartest house in the school. And what if...? What if...? What if everyone finds out!? What if everyone finds out that he's not as smart as they think he is!? What if they laugh at him!?
An older Ravenclaw noticed Klive's shallow breathing and leaned in towards him., quietly whispering. "Being clever isn't what's important; it's the desire to learn. That's why if you can't work out the riddle, you wait for someone who can work it out. So we can share the knowledge."
Klive was doubtful of his upperclass man's statement. But then, he jolted in surprise as the Prefect at the front of the group said; "Huh, I actually have no clue on this one." They turned around. "Anyone?"
Klive lost his doubt.
After about ten minutes, the group had collectively decided on an answer that the eagle was satisfied with and they were now free to enter the room. It was a wide, circular room with arched windows hung with blue and bronze silks and a midnight blue carpet covered in stars, which is reflected onto the domed ceiling. During the day, Ravenclaw students have an excellent view of the school grounds, including the lake, Forbidden Forest, Quidditch pitch, Herbology gardens and the surrounding mountains.
The room is furnished with tables, chairs, and bookcases; and by the door leading up to the dormitories stands a tall statue of Rowena Ravenclaw made of white marble. According to Prefect Robert Hilliard, the sound of wind whistling around the windows of the tower is relaxing while going to sleep.
Klive and the rest of the Ravenclaw boys turn right and head towards the boys dormitories. While Rose and the other Ravenclaw girls turn left and head towards the girls dormitories. After unpacking their things in their appropriate places Klive and Rose went to bed in there new dorms.
AT THE GRYFFINDOR DORMITORIES
Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luke, Hanz, Trion, and Jimmy were all standing outside the Gryffindor common room looking at a portrait of a very fat woman in a pink silk dress that hung in front of the entrance blocking the door.
"Password?" she said.
"Caput Draconis," Percy the prefect answered and the portrait swung forward to reveal a round hole in the wall. They all scrambled through it—Neville needed a leg up—and found themselves in the Gryffindor common room, a cozy, round room full of squashy red and gold armchairs. The armchairs were placed in front of a fire place with a small fire lit inside.Round tables are placed in front of the armchairs. On one side of the room were tables and chairs to sit at to study.
Percy directed Hermione and Trion and the rest of the Gryffindor girls through one door to their dormitory and Harry, Ron, Luke, Hanz, Jimmy and the rest of the Gryffindor boys through another. At the top of a spiral staircase—they were obviously in one of the towers—they found their beds at last: five four-posters hung with deep red, velvet curtains. Their trunks had already been brought up. Too tired to talk much, they all pulled on their pajamas and fell into bed.
AT THE SLYTHERIN DORMITORIES
The Slytherin dormitories are located in the dungeons. They have dim lights lit along the halls towards the entrance of the slytherin common room. Clarith, Julianne and the rest of the Slytherins stopped in front of a statue that was blocking the entrance to their new common room. The statue was a big, green snake with it's eyes closed and mouth opened. The prefect yelled out the password. But half the Slytherins didn't hear as they stared in awe at the statue as it moved on it's own to the side to show the entrance to the common room. Clarith and Julianne looked into the common room through the opening and shivered with disgust. It was dark and cobwebs were everywhere the dark green faded armchairs had springs poking out of them.
"There's a spell on the room so anyone who is not inside the room can't see what it really looks like," The Slytherin prefect explained. The new first years walked into the room and gasped when they saw the new developed room. The candles lit up a dim green flames all around the room. The dark green armchairs placed around the fireplace, which had a big warm fire lit in it. To the right there were tables, chairs and books for homework. The Slytherin boys went to the right and through the door that had 'first years' written on it. Clarith, Julianne and the rest of the Slytherin girls did the same but went to the left of the room.
"We hit the jack-fucking-pot!" Clarith remarked with a grin as she surveyed the king-sized bed in her room. Julianne nodded her head slowly, too shocked to speak. The room had two king-sized beds with curtain draped over them, giving it the appearance of a bed that befits that of royalty. The sheets were silk and coloured a soft, emerald green, with three, flushed pillows on each bed. There were two white, dressing tables on both sides of the room, with an emerald snake etched onto the wood. At the end of the room was a door that led to their own bathroom. The bathroom had two showers and two toilets with a full body mirror along the room. The girls got dressed and went to bed.
