(Derrek's POV)

It's the morning after Haze and I got together, she was still sleeping in my arms, and I must say, I've never been happier. Everything is great. My mother enjoys the fact that I'm out of the house most of the time, so are my two siblings. My dad, well, who cares what he thinks. Plus, Hazelyne's mother treats me like her own. She even once told me I'm the son she never had, and I loved it. I had a second family. I was even getting closer to Ryan, even though Haze didn't trust him at all. I don't know what she had against him.

I just sort of lied here, thinking about everything while she slept. Not going to lie, I was bored as hell. I just didn't want to move or do anything to wake her. I woke her up once, and I swear she would of killed me if I didn't shut up. She is not a morning person. It was weird though. She either wakes up before me, or we would wake up at the same time. Suddenly though, Heather walked in the front door, Very quietly.

"Holy shit!." She whisper yelled when she saw I was awake. I slightly examined her, to see what her weekend antics were, and lets just say it looked like she had a good time.

"Hey there." I said with a slight wave.

"What are you doing awake?" She asked.

"I fell asleep before she did. I would of woke her up, but I'm sort of afraid to."

"I don't blame you. She's a heavy sleeper though. Want some breakfast?" I nodded. Very slowly, I got up and made my way to the kitchen, where Heather grabbed be a bowl, spoon, and milk. I grabbed my cereal of choice, Trix, and well, made myself a bowl of cereal.

I don't know what else there is to say about that.

"So, how was your night?" She asked me.

"It was fantastic." I smiled and continued to eat.

"Oh?" She looked curious, but happy at the same time. Like she knew what was up.

"Yeah, well, don't be mad."

"You're dating now." She simply stated.

"Yes." I whispered. She got up and gave me a hug. She seemed really happy for us. Good! At least she approved.

In the middle of the hug, Hazelyne walked into the kitchen, sort of looked at Heather. She looked at her mom for about two minutes, even after the hug died. She proceeded to grab a bowl of cereal, and walked out into the living room. She didn't look too thirlled. It was only ten though. I shrugged it off and finished my food.

---Two hours later---

Haze and I cleaned up the mess in the living room from last night.

"Haze, can you come here?" Heather called. Haze rolled her eyes, and lef the room. I just sat on the couch. I really didn't want to get in the middle of it. I heard them talking from the other room. I probably shouldn't have been listening in, but I couldn't help it.

"I'm going out. I might not be back fro awhile." Heather stated.

"Please define 'awhile.'" Hazelyne was clearly annoyed. Or pissed. Or both.

"A day or two. Ryan, his new girlfriend, another friend, and I are going on a trip. It's about an hour away."

"Explain how Derrek and I are going to get to school?"

"You don't have school for the next three days. You'll be fine."

"Whatever."

"What's gotten into you? I thought you would be happy since you and Derrek are a thing now."

"I'm happy about Derrek. What I am not happy about though is that you pay more attention to your brother and whatever else than your daughter. We used to be really close. Now you're never here. You know how I feel about Ryan. You know wha ti think. I can't trust him."

"Why?" It even upsets me that she only responded to the last part.

"Because. I feel he used to be a bad person, and he had the potential to do bad things. I don't want you around him. Again, I'm your daughter. Just because I'm thirteen does not mean I want us to grow apart. You're the only parent I've ever had in my life. I can handle not having an explanation on why my dad left, but you know, I'd like you to be around more. You've been playing mommy and daddy for years, and I don't want it to change." She sounded like she was about to cry, and Heather sighed in annoyance.

"Let's just say your moth---father, didn't leave because of you. He loved you." With that, Heather grabbed her things and practically ran out of the house. Seems like that's a very sensative subject.

You know, I'm not sure what's gotten into Haze today, but she wasn't acting like herself. I was sort of worried. Hopefully she would tell me.
