Summary blurb thing

My brother always dreamed of going into space. He'd talk about starships half the size of our planet, an endless galaxy larger than anything we can imagine, completely different worlds with strange creatures billions of billions of billions of miles away. My mother said he sounded like the drunk space traders we sometimes could hear yelling on the street corners about space. Cartian never made it to space. He died when I was eleven. And just like that, my world became no bigger than my home city and the few cities around us.

The news says Jasper troops have arrived on the planet, attempting to remove the Inter-Galactic Peace System we're protected by. When we begin to evacuate, I don't let my parents out of my sight. But in the panic and commotion, we're separated.

Evacuated into the endless space, I know I need to find my family again, somehow.

But the universe is a big place, and there are problems worse than lost families. It wasn't the Inter-Galactic Peace System we were evacuated by.

It was someone else.

Other stuff?

I was kind of thinking like the Jasper troops are the evil guys trying to take over the galaxy and usurp the Inter-Galactic Peace System's rule. The people that evacuated the main character are a third party that oppose both Jasper and the IGPS. (Oh look it says IGPS. Like an apple GPS. Great.) Basically the IGPS is corrupt (as most governments are) and both Jasper and the third party are trying to fight them. Jasper is more evil, and the third party is like rebels.

So the main character looks for her parents amongst the evacuated people (refugees?) and can't find them. She decides they must be still on the planet, but they can't go back.

Eventually she learns of the third party's goal and other stuff and realizes her world is huge (perspective-wise). Then way later she's able to go home and look for her parents. They're right there living their normal lives. All Jasper wanted was to remove the IGPS from the planet. They promised the people could live their normal lives. The main character is tempted to stay home and return to her life, but she has such a big perspective now and she wants to do something about it. So she leaves and, you know, fights the bad guys and wins.

This would probably be like a trilogy or something. You don't take over a government in one book.

This is Star Wars.

The end.
