Cloe's POV
I enter school the next day and everyone is staring at me. Mumbling under their breaths and such and I'm wondering. What the heck did I do this time? I notice some weird feeling in the air. I ignore it, thinking it can't make my life worse then everything already has.
Yesterday I went to the park again. It has been awhile since I went and it was a mess. Leave it to me. It helped calm me down and it was even better because I was in peace and quiet.
I don't care how hurt I am, the environment depends on me in a city like this. Anyways I go to my locker and the usual notes are left, but today there was more. I'm not talking one or two, I'm talking at least double the amount.
I thought after the talk everything would get better. No, it didn't. I roll my eyes and gather all of them. Instead of keeping them in go into the middle of the hallway where there is a trash can.
"Hey!" I call out. All heads turn to me.
"Listen, I don't know what I did. I have no freaking clue but I know that a certain Matthew and Chase have something to do with it. Have a problem with me, fine keep it to yourself. Just stop acting like 2 year olds and grow the **** up!" I say while throwing every piece of paper away.
"Look, the **** finally decides to show herself. Why? Tired of Matty rejecting you?" Rachel says, emerging from the crowd.
A disgusted look appears on my face. "What the heck are you talking about? I'm not a mirror!" I tell her and Oohhhs rise up from the crowd.
"Maybe if you were you would be prettier. You look trashy today." She says and the oohs grow louder.
"I am? I must have succeeded my look. I was trying to look like you!" I retort with fake enthusiasm.
"You will never be gorgeous." She says to me and I scoff.
"Again. I am not a mirror."
"Look here *****, Matty and Chase got suspended because of you." Britney says and I smile.
"Hun, it wasn't because of me. Those dumb***es brought it upon themselves with those lies. I'm honestly glad they are away from me." I retort and Rachel looks at me.
"What lies? Matthew put up pictures all over the school of you naked."
"1) again, those people are my aunt and cousins. They are not my parents. 2) He had to watch my back and the doctor made him stay with me as a punishment, he probably walked into my room knowing I was changing while taking that picture." I explain and she glares at me.
"I don't believe you." Britney says and I scoff.
"Don't worry Brit, I never asked you too. That would be too much thinking." I finally turn around and walk to my class.
I enter and take my normal seat and then somebody taps on my shoulder. Immediately, I turn around and see this really pretty girl that I haven't seen before. Don't judge a book by its cover.
"Hi, I'm Kayla! I'm new and I really don't know many people." She says and I resist the urge to roll my eyes. She is talking to the wrong person.
"Hi Kayla, umm I am not really a person you would love to hang out with. It would not be good for you, but welcome to the school and just a tip, don't talk to those two." I say pointing to Rachel and Britney.
She laughs. "I bumped into that girl and she told me off for getting me 'cheap hands' on her shirt. Why wouldn't I want to talk to you?" She questions and I shake my head.
"I'm not the most interesting person and with me comes a lot of trouble." And secrets I add in my head.
"You seem fun and I've only known you for a minute." She comments and I smile.
"Thank you, but you are really pretty. I'm sure you can fit in somewhere." I tell her and she looks at me.
"You're really pretty too." At that I snort.
"Ha, yeah right. Thank you, but I'm just telling you, nobody thinks that and I am not the best choice of friends. Please, do this for you." I tell her and she nods.
"I'm not going to stop trying though." She tells me and I smile slightly.
"For your own good, you should."
------------
I walk out of the class and see one of the pictures of me. I stare at it, frozen. I cannot cry here. Kayla comes up from behind me.
"What are you looking at?" I immediately go to block it but she pushes me out of the way. She looks at the picture then at me, then at the picture again.
I hang my head down waiting for her words.
"**** girl! You're body is hot! And you say you aren't pretty. Who took this and why is it on the wall." She says and I stand in shock. That was not what I expected to hear.
"Somebody I thought I trusted took that and pull the copies around the school. I didn't even know and honestly, I still don't know why." I tell her and she looks at me.
"Let's go to your locker." She says and I nod slowly.
The papers are back. "Is this because of what that person did?" She asks and I nod.
"Where is she?" Kayla questions and I shake my head.
"Not she, he. And he got in trouble for this, to make it better he is the most popular guy in school and everyone is blaming me for his suspension. Today, this is triple the amount of notes." I tell her and she looks angry.
"He brought this upon himself, how is this in any way your fault? Is this why you didn't want me to be your friend?" She asks and I nod my head slowly.
"Too bad. We're going to be friends whether you want to or not."
