Cloe's POV

The next day, Kayla payed me a visit. Matt knew that she was going to come. He told me that she doesn't know that I'm awake, so he thought it would be a wonderful idea to pretend I was waking up right in front of her for the first time.

This is how it went. She walked in and I close my eyes, lying still on the hospital bed.

"I thought- I thought they were going to pull the plug yesterday." She tells Chase and Matt and Matt speaks up.

"I had faith she was going to wake up. I-I begged them to wait a little longer. I can't lose her, I'll tear myself apart." His voice cracks and I have to conceal my tears. He sounds like he isn't acting, like it's genuine. He should be an actor.

"I know this is a stupid idea, but Matt, in the movies the prince kisses the princess and she wakes up. Kiss her and maybe she will wake up." This would be my first kiss, I honestly wouldn't have it with any other person.

"Um-" he sounds unsure but is cut off by Chase.

"Just do it, dude. We all know how much you like her. This may be the closest you can get." He tells Matt and I have to hide my smile.

I hear and sigh and I feel movement near where I'm sitting.

"Should I?" He whispers so only I can hear. I nod my head very slightly and I can sense his smile.

I can feel his hot breath coming closer to my face and I inhale sharply. This is it, I am going to have my first kiss with the guy I like. I feel a pair of lips on mine and I melt for a second, I then decide now is a good idea to wake up so I kiss back, showing him all my emotion through a kiss.

He pulls back and I open my eyes. Kayla's mouth is wide open and Chase's eyes are wide.

"Hey guys!" I say cheerfully and I get no reply. "Hello?"

"How are you speaking perfectly fine?" Kayla asks still dumbfounded and I chuckle a bit.

"I may or may not have woken up yesterday." Kayla turns and smack Matt across the cheek.

"Why did I just now find out?!" She shouts at him and he holds his cheek.

"Ow! Sorry, I sort of wanted to savor the moment yesterday. Do you know how happy I was when she finally woke up? She did right before they pulled the plug." He defense staring at me and I smile at him, holding his hand and intertwining our fingers.

"Whoa! When did that happen?" Chase asks looking at our fingers and I smile.

"He asked me out on a date yesterday." I say and Kayla looks at him.

"After everything you guys have been through, you decide to take it slow and ask her on a freaking date first? Dude, you guys are practically married! Just ask her to be your girlfriend!" Chase chastises and I blush a bit.

"She's special. She deserves the best." Matt retorts winking at me, I blush harder and Kayla squeals.

"She's blushing, awwww!" Matt just chuckles and I hide my face in his shirt.

"Why can't you be like that?" Kayla questions Chase and I glare between the two.

"When did that happen?" Kayla blushes.

"Umm, a month ago."

I glare at Matt. "Why wasn't I informed?"

"Hey! I was trying to savor the moment that you wake up. I didn't want to throw everything at you. Plus, I wanted you to be mine and only mine for at least that moment." He defense and I look at him.

"Awe! Nice attempt of trying to sweet talk, that isn't an excuse, you forget I am a fangirl, Matthew." He didn't expect that. I have to admit, I just wanted to kiss his cheek then.

"I'm sorry." He gives up and then proceeds to kiss me on my cheek. I smile and bring my shoulders up a bit.

I turn to kiss him on the cheek, but he turns his head and we find ourselves in a kiss. I pull away.

"Aye! We're not even dating yet, slow down. No more kisses until we are together." His face flushes.

"Will you go out with me?" He says jokingly, almost immediately. I laugh and I hear Kayla's and Chase's laugh too.

"You guys are just so cute!" She gushes and I smile.

"I know I am." Matt says and I look at him.

"So I'm the hot one? Every relationship needs a cute person and a hot one, you said you're cute so I'm hot."

"Yes you are." He whispers in my ear and I blush and turn to smack him, but he catches my wrist. "Hey now, that's considered abuse."

"Yeah, animal abuse."

"Ouch! That hurt!"

"Take it or leave it." I shrug and he pulls me a bit closer.

"I'm thinking about taking it." His voice is deep and I practically melt.

"Slow down, tough guy. We're still not together yet." I tell him and I can see a frown start to form.

I hear a gag in the background and look towards Chase. I see Kayla smack him and I laugh.

"Shut up would you! You ruined the moment, they are so cute. Dang, idiot!" I hear Kayla whisper shout and then slap the back of his head.

"Dang, we chose the abusive ones, huh Matt?" Chase comments and Matt chuckles.

"Yep, but I wouldn't want it any other way."
