My Little Nightmare Before Christmas

Chapter 6

-The next morning-

As the sun rose into the sky, Twilight Sparkle woke up from her sleep, and rubbed her eyes. She couldn't stop thinking about that vision she had. She knew that she had to warn Dusk Shine. The pony monsters were wondering what he has been up to, and they hoped he hasn't died. Twilight Sparkle looked at Dusk Shine who was pacing back and forth in his room while thinking about what makes Hearth's Warming Eve so special. He sighed, and said "Geez, this Hearth's Warming Eve is buzzing in my skull, and it just won't leave me be! These dolls and toys confuse me so! Confound it all, I love it though. But what does this all mean?" He looked at all the stories about Hearth's Warming Eve, and said "I've read these Hearth's Warming Eve books so many times. I know the stories, and I know the rhymes. I know the Hearth's Warming Eve carols all by heart. My skull's so full, it's tearing me apart!" As the looked at a picture of himself as the Nightmare Night prince, he said "As often as I've read them, something's wrong. So hard to put my bony hoof on. Or perhaps it's really not as deep as I've been led to think. Am I trying much too hard?" Then he saw an image of himself wearing a a gold crown with ruby and emerald gems on it, and he gasped as he said "Of course! The answer's right in front of me!"

He looked at the Christmas Tree as he said "Just because I cannot see it doesn't mean I can't believe it! You know, I think this Hearth's Warming Eve thing is not as tricky as it seems. And why should they have all the fun?! It should belong to anypony! Not anypony, in fact, but me! Why, I could make a Hearth's Warming Eve tree, and there's no reason I can find I couldn't handle Hearth's Warming Eve time! I bet I could improve it too! And that's exactly what I'll do!" He cackled with glee, opened the window, and looked down at the pony monsters as he said "Eureka! This year, Hearth's Warming Eve will be ours!" The pony monsters cheered, but Twilight Sparkle was not pleased with the news. Later that day, the pony monsters, and Twilight Sparkle were all lined up at the building where they held the town meeting. "Patience, everypony." Mayor Mare said. "Dusk Shine has a special job for each of us. Dr. Abacus Cinch, your Hearth's Warming Eve assignment is ready. Dr. Abacus Cinch to the front of the line." Twilight Sparkle hid behind a fountain when Abacus Cinch walked by.

Inside the building, Dusk Shine was showing a baby pony doll that opens is eyes, and makes a crying sound. "What kind of noise is that for a baby pony to make?" Trenderhoof asked. "Perhaps it can be improved?" Dusk Shine asked. "No problem!" Claude, Trenderhoof, and Jet Set said. "I knew it!" Dusk Shine said with a smile. Abacus Cinch then approached Dusk Shine as he said "Doctor, thank you for coming." He then held up a picture of six reindeer pulling a sleigh with his magic as he said "We need some of these." Abacus Cinch looked at the picture, and said "Hmm...their construction should be exceedingly simple. I think." "How horrible our Hearth's Warming Eve will be." Mayor Mare said. "No. How jolly." Dusk Shine said. Mayor Mare's face from happy to sad as she said "Oh, how jolly our Hearth's Warming Eve will be." Suddenly, some objects were being thrown at her. She growled in anger as she looked down at those responisble, but she then gasped in fear as she said "What are you doing here?!" "Dusk Shine sent for us." A filly wearing a devil costume named Apple Bloom said. "Specifically." A filly wearing a witch costume named Sweetie Belle said. "By name." A filly wearing a skellington costume named Scootaloo said. "Apple Bloom." Apple Bloom said. "Sweetie Belle." Sweetie Belle said. "Scootaloo." Scootaloo said as she licked a red and orange lollipop. Mayor Mare looked at Dusk Shine as she said "Dusk Shine, Dusk Shine. It's Discord's fillies!"

Dusk Shine looked at the three fillies as he said "Ah, Nightmare Night's finest trick-or-treaters! The job I have for you is top secret. It requires craft, cunning, mischief." "And we thought you didn't like us, Dusk Shine." Sweetie Belle said as she giggled. "Absolutely no pony is to know about it." Dusk Shine said. "Not a soul!" He gathered the cutie mark crusader trick-or-treaters as he whispered into their ears about kidnapping Prince Solaris, and bringing him to Nightmare Night Town. Mayor Mare even tried to listen on Dusk Shine's conversation with them. "And one more thing." Dusk Shine said as he finally stopped whispering. "Leave that no account Discord out of this!" "Whatever you say, Dusk Shine." Scootaloo said. "Of course, Dusk Shine." Sweetie Belle said. "Wouldn't dream of it, Dusk Shine." Apple Bloom said. The three fillies quietly snickered with each other, and they took off running.
