HAYLEY POV:
We made our way down the stairs so we were at the front door and went to sit on the wall around our front garden whilst we waited for the others to be ready. I turned to Zane and asked "should we go early so we can go to the shop before school?" Which he nodded in response. Luckily, there were shops at the end of the street so it was a quick walk and it was on the way towards the school anyway. Whilst we were walking down the street, I checked behind us to see if any of our friends were there, which luckily they wasn't because Zane spoke just as I turned back around to face where I was going, "I'm sorry I went mute, I couldn't tell you it'll be okay, I couldn't persuade you not to do anything dumb," he sighed, "it's like I can't protect you properly. I want to protect you from all evil in the world but I couldn't without being able to speak-" I cut him off by wrapping my arms around his neck for a hug, his arms almost instantly snaked around my waist. "It's okay Zane, I'm not dead so you don't have to apologise," I joked in attempt to lighten the mood, "if you want to apologise so much you can buy me a smoothie and some Oreos" I giggled as I pulled away and started walking again, leaving him behind. As we entered the store I greeted the shopkeeper and Zane smiled before we went to the refrigerated section; I pulled out two smoothies, one being mango and passion fruit for Zane, and the other being strawberry and banana for myself. I also picked out a box of fruit for Zane, as he wants to look healthy at school even though we have fast food at least twice a week, then we went to the chocolate section to get a packet of golden Oreos for myself. We paid the shopkeeper and said our thank you's before leaving.

As we walked through the school gates, we saw Aria was trying to call someone, getting frustrated when they didn't answer, it was most likely Lucas. As we kept walking, a phone was ringing behind us so we turned to see who it was and it was the devil himself, with his green hair and the famous checked shirt with Luna stood on his shoulders, he was walking next to Amber with Tyler walking slightly behind them. "Get your whiteboard out and start explaining where you two went," Tyler demanded as he caught up to us, Zane searched through his bag to take his whiteboard out but his eyes widened as it wasn't there. Zane looked at me with sympathy as to say he was going to have to speak today, I wrapped my arms around him again and whispered in his ear "only speak if you're confident, if not I can run home to get you the board." As I pulled away I started to explain to Tyler why we left him, "well you see, we don't really like you so we left you at home with Amy and Lucas," I said sarcastically with a smirk. "We went to the shop because you're a snail," Zane remarked with confidence. "Is this going to be a thing or just for today?" Tyler asked as he searched his bag for a drink.

"It depends," he sighed as his arm snaked around my shoulders, "I like talking and all so I might keep it up but as soon as Aria says something, the whiteboard's coming back." "Understandable," Tyler said calmly as he took a sip of his summer berries smoothie, "so, I bet at least five girls fall head over heels because of your voice, like there's already a few falling for your looks but now you've started talking again-" and he was cut off by a girl screaming, she had brown hair that faded into red which matched her black and red baseball cap, I think her name was Kaitlin? "Hey Zane!! Wanna skip school on Fridayy?" She asked with a flirtatious voice obviously trying to be better than me, as self-centred as that sounds, I am obviously better. "I would love to, but I have a show on Friday with my best friends so no thanks" he answered putting on a fake act. Her face changed to a deep shade of red as she squealed and ran in her heels which were too high for her to even walk in. "She's totally fan-girling over your voice," Tyler joked as two more girls came up to us. "Hey Chloe, Jay, how are you?" Zane asked as their jaws dropped, "we're good, just wanting to know if you want to do something Friday, if you're not busy that is" Chloe asked. She has purple hair tied so it was out of her face and she was wearing a red tank top with a white skull and black shorts and trainers, she told me it was to show of her tattoos. Where as the girl who she was with, Jay, has long black hair in a half up, half down hairstyle to keep it out of her eyes and she was wearing a white crop top with black palm trees on with black denim shorts and a pair of black trainers. "Sorry but I'm practising for something all day on Friday, don't skip and you won't miss anything important" he said with a wink as he scratched the back of his neck. The two girls giggled and walked off before Amber and Lucas walked up to where we were stood, "what was that about?" Amber asked, referring to the girls who were giggling.

"Well, long story short, all the girls who were crushing on out little buddy Zane over here, have developed a bigger crush because of how sexy his voice is," Tyler explained whilst I laughed at how accurate it was. "Wait, Zane's spoke?" Lucas added in complete shock, looking from me to Zane to Tyler. In response, Zane smirked slightly before speaking up, "kinda, well I mean, I left my whiteboard at home so I don't have any other choice really."
