call to : 1-800-799-7233"hello, this is the national domestic violence hotline, thanks for reaching out how may i help you?"
"hi, i'm just going to throw this out there. my boyfriend abuses me."
"are you in a safe place to talk? away from him?"
"yes i am."
"why don't you tell me a bit about your situation?"
"it started a few months after we started dating, you know just the little things at first. he'd get mad at me sometimes for no reasons and just start yelling. then he started to grab my arm and hitting places where if there were bruises they wouldn't be shown. the other day i was telling him how i was going to go out with a friend for lunch and he immediately jumped on the idea that i was cheating on him and started yelling and hitting me."
"have you tried speaking to him about the yelling and hitting?"
"yes. i've tried so many times but it never works."
"what have you considered doing at this point?"
"i was thinking of leaving him. the thought is always somewhere floating in my mind. but the consequences are always right next to it. i feel he wouldn't let me go, like leave you know?"
"yes i understand. have you tried hinting that you want to leave the relationship?"
"yes many times. but surprisingly he hasn't gotten mad at me when i do."
