The Deal

I made sure Felicia and the others left before I could make the phone call. I only lied that I didn't like the beach so I could be alone in this house. I had to admit, her mother gave her a really good house. I stopped spying through the curtains when the black giant car left sight of my view and slipped my phone from my pocket.

While waiting for the phone call I gave myself a tour around Felicia's house; from the garage to the kitchen, everywhere. It was very beautiful, just like her.

"Ugh, she didn't pick up. . ." I stuffed my phone back into the pocket. Did she somehow forget the deal we had made? I wasn't going to allow that. I walked to her kitchen and opened her fridge; organized and surprisingly cleaned. What to expect from a future chef.

I almost wanted to laugh. How could she make a living by cooking alone? It was shocking enough to know her mother even allowed that.

The phone in my pocket vibrated loudly and I knew it was her.

"Hello?"

"Sorry, Arthur. I had to make some arrangements with stuff. . ."

I sighed in relief. "It's alright. I just thought you forgot our deal."

"No! How could I forget such when it also includes my daughter?" She started laughing and I waited till her laughter ended. "You only met her. Do you still want to continue the deal?"

"No turning back," I said.

"Ok," she replied, "I would recommend checking her room, she most likely has her savings in a mini bank I gave to her for her goal."

"Her room then. . ." I jogged my way to the stairs, looking at the door as I went up. I searched and opened every door that looked like a bedroom. Finally seeing a room that was nudged and locked.

"It's locked," I grunted in anger.

"Ahaha. That's my girl."

"Which side are you on anyway?"

"Relax, I'm only praising Felicia for her security. Once Felicia's bedroom is open, I want you to take only little of her money every day or every week. Make it unnoticeable and don't let her catch you."

"So how long will I be doing that?"

"Till December."

"I'm going to stay with her?"

"I thought you want to marry her. That is part of the deal if you make sure her goal is less than $100,000."

"Yea. . ." She was too cute to let go of. My own baby cousin. A fear flashed into my mind, making me clear my throat. "Um, what if she were to find out?"

"Do what you need to do to make her forget. Or lie."

It sounded so simple when she said those two scenarios.

"Okay then." That was all I could say.

"Good luck. I shall be going now. Take care." She hung up before I could even say goodbye. I placed my phone back into my pocket and made my way back into my room.
