Chapter 9 ‌• War Of Hearts

A/N: yo yo yo my name is isabella and tomorrow I have a big test and instead of last minute studying I made a reylo au video and read reylo fanfiction on ao3 , so because of that I'm in a very reylo mood so hey let's update this mush of fluff story. ALSO I posted the au i made above because i'm hella proud of it because it literally took so long to find clips and put them together to make some sort of story but hey enough babbling let's get on with the reylo ;)

There are a limited amount of people in life that Rey would like to kiss, as well as there being a very wide variety of people she'd like to give a big punch in the face. But there was only one person in which there was a fine line between attraction and hatred.

And that was Ren.

"You're an idiot, you know that right?"

He chuckled at her words, his fingers intertwining with hers tighter than before.

"Of course I know that, you've told me that at least 10 times in the 15 minutes that we've been walking."

"It's nice to be reminded."

"Sure..."

His voice trailed off and Rey could tell something was on his mind, but she didn't want to bother him.

"We're here..."

He whispered the words slowly in her ear, sending chills down her spine. Looking forward Rey took notice at the set up in front of her. It was a simple picnic blanket with a small basket on top followed by several white-gold candles. 

"So I'm guessing there's no actual lesson today," Rey mused a smile now spread across her face. "Is this what you do for all the girls."

"Only you," Ren winked at Rey and pulled her by her wrist towards the blanket.

She sat down across from him and winced slightly when he started to open the basket.

"I hope you're hungry."

Rey didn't answer and in response he handed her a small plate filled with a small variety of food.

"I didn't know what you'd like so I brought a couple different foods, hopefully you aren't that picky," Ren chuckled awkwardly and started to eat from his plate. He watched Rey intently and bore a worried expression when she started to play with her food.

"Are you okay?"

"Y-yeah...I'm just not hungry right now," she managed a small smile before shoving the plate back into the basket. A flicker of disappointment flashed across Ren's face.

"I appreciate the gesture, I do," she looked down at her hands. "It's just that I ate right before I came." Rey slipped out the effortless lie and sighed in guilty relief once Ren seemed to buy it.

"Anyways why'd you bring me here."

He reached forward to grab at Rey's hands.

"I just thought we could use a break from our lessons."

"Really?" Rey raised a brow skeptically.

Ren just laughed before starting up on his food once again.

"I see you don't want to give me an answer, well then..." she moved towards him and in response he set the plate down.

"What are you doing?" He replied almost breathlessly.

Rey smirked before letting her lips press gently on his right cheek. Ren froze and she started to laugh. Leaning close again she moved towards his lips for a small moment, the space between them mere centimeters.

It seemed as if he was trying to lean in. But Rey wasn't that easy, so in a last minute gesture she pulled away from him quickly.

"God you're such a tease."

"I know."

She smiled wide at him, amused at his expression of annoyance.

"Just let me kiss you..." he whined, reaching to grab at her waist.

"You'll have to catch me first!" Was her reply before she went running off into the early morning.

A/N: hopefully this is satisfactory because idk i'm kind of tired at the moment and contemplating updating another story or not. but anyways hopefully y'all enjoyed and thank you to all the readers still sticking with this story
