Your POV:
Sunlight streamed through the gaps of the leaf canopy above us.
I took a deep breath, savoring the sweet air.
We were lying in the grass; Some of the earlier songs by the Beatles were playing. Peter was playing around with my hair.
This boy can never sit still.
"So...why the forest?" he asked losing interest in the strand he was winding around his finger.
"Plants have a constant energy. It's almost like turning my powers off."
He nodded his head.
"You wanna go do something?" he questioned.
I sat up and laughed, placing a hand on his cheek,
"Forest too boring for ya?"
He made a small gap between his thumb and pointer,
"Little bit."
"You, Quicksilver, need to learn to slow down sometimes," I said softly before bending down to press my lips against his.
We broke away and I scratched the back of my neck,
"After graduation...what are you going to do?"
He sat up next to me and smirked,
"Live in my mom's basement, probably."
I laughed hard and he added,
"What about you?"
"I'm not sure. I just know that I don't want to be here forever. I want to travel, find more people like me."
It was silent for a moment, until Peter tucked my hair behind my ear and said,
"There are other mutants, but trust me, none of them are anywhere near as amazing as you are."
I rolled my eyes and smiled,
"You're so full of crap, Maximoff."
He put both of his hands on the side of my face and stared directly into my eyes.
"___, I'm not kidding."
I felt my cheeks warm. A wide grin spread across Peter's face.
"What are you smiling at?" I asked.
"Your cheeks are glowing."
I put a hand to my face a released a small laugh.
"Sorry. It's kind of hard to control my powers when I'm around you."
"Don't control them. They're beautiful. Mutant and proud."
I kissed the side of his face,
"Mutant and proud."Tap. Tap. Tap.
I slipped off my headphones and paused the tape before walking over to the window and opening it for Peter.
He stared at me with his iconic smile—a smile that meant he was up to something.
"What's going on?" I questioned.
"C'mon," he said grabbing my hand and laughing.
"Where are we going?"
He lifted me down from my window and onto the side lawn,
"The Golden Spoon. Emergency Music Appreciation Club meeting."
He revealed a bouquet of cut flowers and added,
"These are for you, because I'm the best boyfriend ever."
The flowers looked beautiful. But energy-wise they emitted a sad, painful feeling. I could smell death.
I uncontrollably began to cry.
Peter's eyes went wide with concern,
"Was it...something I said?" he asked awkwardly, unsure of what was happening.
I wiped the tears away,
"No, no. They look beautiful. It's my powers. They're cut. The flowers are dying."
He flashed away for two seconds then returned again with a potted flower. He handed it to me with a smile,
"Better?"
I laughed and kissed him on the cheek,
"Thank you, Peter."
"Now, let's go. We have an important meeting to get to."
He ran, dragging me behind him, until we reached the diner. Loretta, the waitress that worked there, greeted us on our way in.
We took a seat at our usual booth.
"Alright, alright. What's so important that MAC had to have an emergency meeting?" I said sensing the excitement he was feeling.
He placed a tape on the table.
"Track seven."
My eyes went wide,
"That means—"
"One more track until we have the complete album."
I went through the tracks we had in my head,
"Ten! We're just missing track ten!"
I looked into his eyes, and felt my heart race faster. And for a moment everything was perfect. Then the shitstorm hit.
