Today is moving day. "Stace come help me over here!" Dad calls from the kitchen. I walk over "what is it dad?" I say "Can you help me lift this couch?" Dad asks. The big old green couch is sitting in front of dad. The mover people are here and they are helping load up our stuff to our new apartment in the city. "Sure" I say. Mom comes into the room and also helps us. All three of us bring the huge couch into the moving truck. We pull it over into the moving truck. "Whew that was heavy eh stace?" Mom says "Yeah." I say "Can I go say goodbye to Honeydew?" I say "Of course honey." Mom says. I'm an only child. I walk over to the barn wearing my cowgirl boots and I go see honeydew she's gonna get sold to someone else. "Hey honeydew."I whisper. She looks me in the eyes and I stroke her beautiful coat. I will miss her so much. A single tear rolls down my cheek. "Goodbye Honeydew." I say softly she looks me in the eyes as if to say goodbye. I'm moving to a new school. New house. In the city! This is all so much to take in. Honk!!!! It's dad "Stacy!!! Lets go!" Mom yells. I stroke honeydews nose one more time then I sprint back to our car. We go ahead of the moving truck. I look back at our house and the barn as I softly cry. Mom turns her rad around from the passenger seat. "You okay Stacy?" Mom asks "Yeah." I say. Dad continues to drive. We drive to the city and I watch the world as I ride away from my old life to a hole new start.
