That's where Castle found her 10 minuets later, curled on her bathroom floor, a complete mess. He had let himself in with the spare key in the flower pot next to her front door. He made a mental note to tell her to find a better hiding place later. When Rick came to the doorway, he stopped for a moment, not sure what to do. He ran his hands over his face and sighed. "Kate," he eased down to her brushing loose hair behind her ear. She looked up at him with pleading eyes, not saying a word. "Come here." He held his arms oped and she slid into them effortlessly and he carried her awkwardly to the couch. Kate curled into him immediately, no words said and his arms encircled her, one hand rubbing her back. After some time, the crying subsided and Kate sat back up, but not losing contact with Castle. He smiled at her as she wiped her eyes, smearing her make-up even more. "Want a glass of water? He suggested and she nodded. Castle stood up and went to the kitchen, quickly coming back with a glass of water. Handing it to her he spoke, "wanna tell me what's up? So I can help." Kate took a long sip to buy her some time. Could she really tell him? The father of her baby didn't even know, but then again he was going to be gone for four months. Setting the glass down and wiping her eyes again, Kate adjusted her throat. I'm sorry, Rick. I didn't mean to brake down like that. It's just Josh left for Africa, and you called and you were my only chance to calm me down." To be honest when she pleaded for him to come, she hadn't even realized it. She just wanted somebody to hold her and tell her it'd be ok. "Just Josh leaving has gotten to you this time?" He asked trying to make since of her words. She shook her head. "Yes and no. Before he left I found out something he needed to know, but he wouldn't listen," she was beating around the bush, not wanting to tell him, but wanting to at the same time. "He said he'd call me from the car, but-" "but what Kate? I can't help you unless you tell me." Castle spoke softly, rubbing his hands over her knees. "Cas- Rick. I'm pregnant."
