Chapter 6

"Castle. I'm getting fat." Kate huffed and she pulled her shit over her still growing bump. Kate was now four months along and castle had been spending lots of time at her apartment. He had even brought her out on a couple of 'dates.' Kate's morning sickness has been acting up, and her doctor said it was totally normal, some women experienced it early, some later. She really appreciated him being there for her, and slowly their feelings towards each other had began to grow.

"Kate, your not fat. You have a baby growing inside you." Kate signed and turned to her side, looking at her bump in the merrier. Castle had came in her room, standing behind her.

"I guess it's time to tell people huh?" She half asked turning to look at him.

"I would if I were you. Though I think your dad should be the first on that list." Kate nodded. Gates had given her time off until she let everybody know, and her morning sickness subsided. "Well are you ready?" He asked placing his hand on the small of her back. They were headed out to lunch at a café.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's go." They walked out of her apartment and Rick locked the door behind him. When he was by her side, he placed his hand on the small of her back again. Kate smiled up at him at the small gesture. Castle smiled back and they got in the elevator.

Later that night, Rick poured himself some wine while Kate drank water. "Rick we need to talk." She said sitting on the couch, gesturing for him to sit. He did, sipping his wine before he set it on the coffee table. "What are we doing?" Beckett simply asked, glancing at him.

"Right now, talking."

"Cas, that's not what I mean."

"Right," he smiled, "well I'd like to believe we're starting a relationship." He said simply, not thinking twice. Kate nodded and looked down. "Hey," he pushed hair behind her ear and lifted her chin up, "talk to me."

"It's just- I don't get it."

"Get what?"

"You, your mind, why would you want me? Of all people you want me, and I'm pregnant and it's not even your child!" Kate practically yelled, hot tears running down her face.

"Kate, sweetie, it's always been you, I've always wanted you. It doesn't matter what you look like, or what you've done, Kate. It's always been you."

Kate looked deep into his blue eyes and knew he wasn't lying. It's always been him too, always. he leaned down and slightly captured her lips with his, "Rick." She breathed and he kissed her again while wiping her tears away with his thumbs. He stopped the kiss and rested his forehead against hers, one hand on her neck, the other on her cheek continuing to wipe the tears away.

"I'm never going to leave you or this baby. He may not be mine, but I going to do the best I can to make sure this baby has the best life ever. I don't care what josh had done, he may be the father, but he's no daddy."
