"Your attention, please! I'd like to say a few words." Dumbledore called the students to attention. "Eternal glory. That is what awaits the student who wins the Triwizard Tournament. But to do this, that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks.                                                                                            For this reason, the Ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule. To explain all this we have the head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, Mr. Bartemius Crouch."

Mr. Barteminus Crouch. Lucy leaned over to Ginny who sat beside her and whispered. "That's the ministry official from the Quidditch World Cup!"

Suddenly the Great Hall's sky illusion changed into a storm complete with thunder and lightning. A few students even screamed. A stream of magic energy was shot into the sky and dispelled the storm. The spell caster was a strange man toward the front of the room.

He had a fake eye and a wood staff.

"Wo, that's Mad Eye Moody." Ron announced.

"Alastor Moody? The auror?" Hermione inquired.

"Auror?" a another Gryffindor student questioned.

"Dark Wizard catcher. Half the cells in Azkaban are filled thanks to him. He's supposed to be mad as a hatter these days." Ron informed them.

"Ah, my dear old friend. Thanks for coming." Dumbledore thanked the man in the front.

"What's then he's drinking ya suppose?" Seamus Finnigan wondered as Alastor Moody gulped down a liquid from a container.

"I don't know, but I don't think it's pumpkin juice." Harry hypothesized.

Barteminus Crouch walked forward, claiming the student's attention. "After due consideration, the Ministry had concluded that for their own safety, no student under the age of 17 should be allowed to put forth their name for the Triwizard Tournament." He continued even with the students protesting and booing him. "This decision is final."

"Silence!" Dumbledore bellowed. Once the students had quieted down the headmaster slowly removed the golden casing to reveal a large, stone goblet with a blue flame burning just above it.

"The Goblet of Fire, anyone wishing to summit themselves to the tournament may merely write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it in the fame before this hour of Thursday night. Do not do so lightly! If chosen, their is no turning back. As from this moment, the Triwizard Tournament had begun.
