Alright, I wasn't going to update today, but then @TheAquaHuntress asked so nicely, so, here we go. This chapter is dedicated to her. :)

At the library

Ginny sighed. Lucy continued with scratching the quill onto her parchment for her assignment from McGonagall. Ginny sighed again.

"What's wrong?" Lucy prompted as she finished up her last sentence.

"Harry likes Cho Chang. He's going to ask her to the ball and she's going to say yes. They will fall in love and eventually get married." Ginny moaned.

"You don't know that." Lucy responded.

"Yes I do." Ginny grumbled.

"Besides," Lucy continued as if Ginevra hadn't said anything, "Cedric and Cho have been dating for months. It isn't like Cho will randomly go to the Yule Ball with Harry when she is already with Cedric."

For a moment Ginny brightened and sat straight, excited, but then she slumped back onto the table. "He'll still never ask me to go to the Ball with him."

"Then you ask him." Lucy suggested.

"No, I would act all awkward and wouldn't even get the words out before I ran off." Ginny moped.

"Do you want me to talk to him for you?" Lucy grinned.

"No!" Ginny shot up, alarmed.

"Shh! This is the library." Lucy reminded her with the grin still plastered to her face.

"Don't you dare do anything! I don't want to be embarrassed!" Ginny demanded.

Lucy quietly laughed at her friend's reaction and was on her way back to the dormotories, leaving Ginny to finish her own schoolwork. "Harry." Lucy greeted as she spotted him in the hall.

The night of the Yule Ball was filled with dread, sorrow, nervous energy, happiness, and excitement from mainly students, but a few teachers as well, especially those in charge of getting the decorations put up and the refreshments set out.

Lucy left Luna and Ginny, who were still busy doing last minute preparations in the prefect bathroom that they had skillfully discovered, (Fred and George had learned it and let them know what it was.) and found an anxious Hermione in one of the nearby halls.

"Hermione, what's bothering you?" Lucy inquired.

Hermione quickly looked up, clearly startled, but seemed to relax when she realized who it was. "It's nothing."

"No it isn't. Now what is it? Are you nervous about going on a date, talking to a guy outside of school or friends, socializing, wearing a dress, seeing the great hall so decorative, the dancing, that's nothing you should worry about, eating cupcakes,  -" Lucy continued to list things (some rather funny suggestions) until Hermione finally burst with giggles.

"Eating cupcakes?! And as for the dancing, that's easy for you to say. You didn't even need the dancing lessons, while I was attempting to dance with two left elephant feet!" Hermione joked.

"You have nothing to worry about, you dance wonderfully." Lucy assured her, before adding, "besides, I have been dancing for at least two decades."

Hermione laughed, believing it to be a joke. "I'm nervous about how Harry and Ron will take it that I'm going with Viktor." She confided.

"Hermione," Lucy firmly stated, "It doesn't matter what anyone thinks about you being with Viktor except for you and him, and if he is worth even talking to then he should know how much of a brilliant, kinds, caring, beautiful girl you are."

Hermione smiled. "Thanks Lucy."

"Now, I believe it is time you made your grand decent to your awaiting date, isn't it?"
