Edmund woke up with tears in his eyes. It was about 3 in the morning and he was shivering from the coldness, his nightmare and fear. He had seen the Witch in his nightmare, more powerful than ever. She had a hag and a werewolf at her service, seven werewolves as her police, a hundred werewolves and seventy hags as warriors in her army. How would he be able to defeat her? He had to proove her he wasn't afraid of her. How could he kill her if he couldn't even do it when she was weaker? He almost died the last time and was only trying to, at least, break her wand. You have to trust us, Aslan and yourself, Peter had told him.

He started walking towards his door, he thought about going outside to breath the fresh air. He crossed a few corridors, went down the stairs in the entrance and got outside.

Edmund crossed Beruna, no one was awake. It was pitch black and freezing cold outside, Edmund decided to have a walk in the forest, where the wind could not reach him.

He had been in the woods for about thirty minutes when oak leaves whispered to him.

"Your majesty, I suggest you do not continue deeper in the forest, the police of the White Witch is there. Please, do not go, they are looking for you."

Edmund turned around and the leaves disappeared in the darkness of the forest. CRACK! Edmund turned around, suddenly. He could hear small whispers from behind the bushes. He creeped toward them and popped his head up to be able to see the scene, but quickly hid it back down. He had almost been seen. He made a hole in the middle of the bush to have a view of the instigator or instigators of the noise.

Edmund let out a small gasp as he discovered the instigators. It was the White Witch's secret police. He watch the scene, holding his breath as the seven werewolves were quietly whispering to each other.

"Seems like the tree doesn't know about the boy!" smirked the chef, at least he looked like he was the chef, he was the biggest one of them.

"You know, a hag saw him and his family on the beach, you know where he is! Your friends must have told you! Now, where is he? In the castle of Beruna or at Cair Paravel? Or maybe hiding from the real Queen of Narnia!" said the second wolf. Edmund was so angry at that wolf, she was not the Queen, she was a Witch!

"Chef! I can smell something!" the third wolf declared.

"Who?" asked the chef.

"Him!"

Edmund backed away but stumbled over a root. Soon, the chef jumped over the bushes, followed by the six other werewolves. The chef rested his paw on Edmund's chest with a lot of force. Edmund swung his sword at him but the second wolf sinked his claws in his arm, the pain forcing Edmund to let go of his sword. He could see blood pouring down his arm and the chef smirking at him.

"We won't make you wait, son of Adam. We are taking you to the Queen's castle." he declared.

"No you're not" said a familiar voice. It was Peter. Edmund tilted his head to look at him but let out a groan of pain. The chef's paw that was on his chest had his claws deep into his skin, making a scar on his chest.

"Ed!" Peter called, approaching him with his sword in his right hand and his other hand down, reaching for Edmund's forehead. The chef jumped on Peter who took a step on the side and pointed his sword at the spot he was standing a second ago. The sword traced a large cut on the chef's shoulder, who groaned in pain. Peter didn't kill him, he just frightened him enough to make him run away from him and his brother. He pointed his sword at the others who all followed their chef and were soon gone.

Peter turned to Edmund. He drew back his sword in its scabbard and knelt down next to his brother. He put his hand on his forehead and felt it heating up.

"Ed, are you alright? You'll have to get that wound healed." Peter declared.

"Pete?" asked Edmund in trembling voice. "How did you know I was here?"

"I heard you walking past my room, at first I didn't react, but then I went in your room to see if it was you. You weren't there so I followed the footprints you made in the snow..."

"Thanks." Edmund smiled weakly.

"It was nothing. Now let's get you back in the castle, it's about six in the morning and there a little bit of light." Peter said.
