Most of our walk was me answering Dan's questions about being a journalist. Apparently he'd wanted to do journalism at one point, and so he was fascinated by hearing all about my classes and job and what not.

"So when do you graduate?" he inquired as we both slowed down our walking pace.

"Next month actually. This is my last semester." I replied.

I watched as an adorable grin took over Dan's features, "No way! That's wicked! You must be excited then?"

"Yeah, I'm ready to be done. I don't know how it's possible for four years to both fly by and drag on, but somehow college makes it happen." I told him.

"Ah man, I loved uni! Some of the best years of my life." Dan expressed.

"If I ever meet the rest of your band I'll be sure to tell them that that's how you feel." I teased.

"Oh will you now?" Dan challenged back, bumping me with his shoulder.

I looked at him in surprise which rewarded me with more of that beautiful laughter. His face even flushed a little which was adorable as all hell.

"I probably won't ever have the opportunity though so I don't think you have anything to worry about." I pointed out.

"Why don't you stick around after the gig and I can introduce you to everyone! That is if seeing me perform hasn't scared you off by then."

"You're a really self deprecating person, you know that?"

"Autumn, Bastille's biggest hit is about two corpses having a conversation after a volcano has completely decimated everything around them. Our new album has a song about the death penalty. Pessimism is sort of my specialty." Dan explained, chuckling at the end.

I still found myself so mesmerized by the way he talked. The language he used was so intriguing and intellectual and just...sexy. I came out of my daze and realized that we were now right outside the door that led outside to the amphitheater.

"I'm guessing you can't actually walk me out there right?" I questioned, slightly hoping I was wrong.

"It's probably best if I don't actually. I'll be looking for you in the crowd later though!" he replied as his eyes lit up once again.

"And I'll be looking out for these legendary dance moves." I said back.

"Oh God... If by legendary you mean legendarily awful!"

I gave him a playful shove, "Oh stop! I'm sure it's not that bad."

I suddenly noticed something shift in the way that Dan was looking at me, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was.

"I guess I'll let you be the judge and you can let me know after the show." Dan stated, his voice coming out rather quiet.

"I'll be sure to give you my full review." was my immediate response.

Wow... That came out so... Suggestive? What was I doing flirting with a guy this out of my league? Like seriously. We held intense eye contact for a moment and my whole body started to tingle.

"So um... I'll talk to you in a bit then." he interjected, both of us seeming to notice the somewhat lingering tension.

"Y-Yeah, sounds good." I stuttered out.

I went to go in for a parting handshake and was caught completely off guard when Dan instead pulled me into a hug. It was overwhelming being entirely enveloped by him. He smelled so good and was holding me so tightly and his head was slightly buried in my shoulder/neck and the only thought running through my head was that I only wanted to be hugged by this one person for the rest of my existence. Even though it literally made no sense, being in his arms gave me a sense of safety like I had never known before. Who was Dan Smith really and how had he turned my entire world upside down so quickly?? Dan released me and removed his hat before nervously running a hand through his hair.
