Just a little heads up that from this part on there will be some more mature scenes from time to time. I understand that not everyone is comfortable with that, so please do whatever you need to do to accommodate yourself whether that is skipping over those scenes or stopping reading this story altogether. I wanted to be true to the nature of an adult relationship and what I feel like the natural progression between Dan and Autumn should be. I don't want to offend anyone and I tried not to be too explicit so hopefully I succeeded in that area at least. So please consider this my one warning that adult themes will be part of the updates to come. Thanks as always for all your love and support. You all are wonderful and I hope you enjoy!!

After the arena had basically cleared out, my mom insisted on taking me, Dan, and Nathan out to lunch. As we walked to our cars I informed my mom that we needed to go somewhere pretty low key though because of Dan. He was walking with Nathan several feet behind us so hopefully he wouldn't hear our conversation because I knew he wouldn't like me making a big deal on his behalf.

"Is he not one for big crowds and such?" my mom asked me.

I took a deep sigh before answering her, "So, there's something you should know. Dan is a musician, but by musician I mean he's the lead singer of a band called Bastille."

Her demeanor changed in an instant. My mother hugging me and telling me how proud she was of me was just a fleeting memory now.

"Autumn Quinn Blake, please tell me that you're not actually dating a celebrity." was her immediate response, her tone full of disapproval.

"I mean technically he is famous. But not famous like if I were dating one of the Hemsworth brothers. Plus Dan doesn't consider himself famous at all. He's incredibly humble and down to earth. So I really don't think you can label him as a celebrity. At his core, he's a musician and that's what really matters to him. He's amazing Mom, and he's really important to me. Please just give him a chance." I pleaded.

I nervously watched her contemplate her answer and prayed that Nathan and my boyfriend were still out of earshot. I snuck a glance. Dan was waiting over by my car and Nathan was slowly making his way over to where we were standing next to my mom's car.

"Fine Autumn, I will give him a chance. But you should know that as a journalist, this is dangerous territory. You have a great opportunity with your job at the magazine. I would hate for you to do something that would fuck all of that up." she said curtly.

Okay now I was pissed.

"Look. Dan and I aren't just some scandal. We're in a relationship. We care about each other. I'm sorry if you can't understand that."

"Things may be fine now, but at some point the news of your relationship is going to get out. And when that happens, sweetie the press is going to eat you alive and you'll be lucky if you can even write for the local paper after word gets out about what kind of journalist you really are. You're risking losing everything just because some famous guy showed interest in you. He's probably done this with lots of other gir-"

"Shut your mouth. You don't know Dan at all. Or me for that matter. Why did you even bother coming here if all you were going to do was judge my life and make me feel like shit? You know what, I think Dan and I are going to pass on lunch today because frankly, I cannot stomach any more bullshit." I practically spat at her, angry tears starting to sting the corners of my eyes.

"You're right Autumn. Coming out here was a mistake." she shot back before getting in the driver's seat and slamming the car door in my face.

I could see Nathan in the reflection, concern on his face as he took the last couple of steps to the car.
