The second Dan set me down I could immediately feel everyone's eyes on us.
"Told you he missed you." Kyle instantly spoke up.
Dan's face turned bright red and I laughed.
"Yeah well, I kinda missed him too." I voiced, my eyes still fixed on the blushing man in front of me.
"It's wicked to see you again! Especially this soon." Dan admitted, laughing nervously and rubbing the back of his head.
I had the sudden urge to kiss him, but I refrained because for the moment we still had an audience.
"Guess we have these guys to thank for that." I said as I gestured to his bandmates.
Dan turned to the other four guys, his face still fairly flushed, "Guess you're right. This really is a nice surprise, thanks lads."
"Well you two clearly had some sort of connection. We all knew Danny boy would be too shy to do anything about it though. Luckily he has all of us to help him out." Kyle expressed, winking at both Dan and I.
"Wow, thanks mate. Cheers." was Dan's immediate sarcastic response.
I giggled at the way they all bickered with each other. It was so much like brothers.
"And with that said, we're gonna go ahead and give you two some time alone. I'm pretty sure Autumn didn't come all the way out here just to watch us harass Dan." Charlie piped up as he started ushering Woody, Will, and Kyle out of the room.
"Nah, that's just a bonus." I shot back, smirking at Dan.
He gave me a challenging look and I instantly regretted opening my mouth.
"You're a bit of a brat Autumn Blake, ya know that?" Dan remarked, something mischievous in his tone.
"God Dan, would you just kiss her already!" Woody teased from the open doorway.
Dan whipped around so fast. Great job Woody.
"Fuck off would you!" Dan shouted, but he was laughing so he couldn't have been too angry.
The door swung closed and the chuckles from Dan's bandmates faded a few moments later. Leaving just the two of us alone in Dan's dressing room. A British "rockstar" and a journalism student. What an odd pairing we were.
My eyes were glued to Dan as he walked over to the couch on the other side of the room and sat down. I was currently enjoying the hell out of fresh off the stage Dan. His hair was wet and in slight disarray. I kept fantasizing about tugging on it. I really needed to stop that honestly...
"You can sit Autumn. I'm sure you're tired from your flight and everything." Dan voiced, gesturing to the seat next to him.
I wordlessly went over and sat down beside him, not quite sure of what to say next.
"You're quiet all of a sudden. Everything alright?" he asked.
"Yeah, everything's fine. I just, kinda can't believe I'm really here right now." I replied honestly.
Dan seemed to contemplate my words for a minute and then suddenly a look of horror washed over his face. I didn't even get the chance to ask what was wrong before he jumped to his feet and started freaking out, "Oh God. The lads really did put you up to this didn't they?!"
"Dan wait-" I tried to cut in but he wasn't listening right now.
"They all felt sorry for me and they dragged you into coming out here. This is probably the last place you want to be, oh God..."
