Kai woke up to soft kisses being pressed over his face, fluttering his eyelashes open. When his gray eyes met those of cerulean blue, a beautiful smile curled on his lips. Kai brought his fingers up to glide along Carver's jawline, still feeling as though he were in a dream with the pale light of sunrise coming in through the window.
"Welcome to the Dark Ice Pack, Kai Winters," Carver whispered,
"Carver," Kai smiled, unable to help kiss the man's lips.
"How does the link work with so many people?" Kai asked curiously, scooching closer to his mate so their noses nearly brushed. His toes bumped against Carver's shins, feeling his alpha's hand scoop over his petite waist.
"It's similar to when you are in a room with a lot of people when you push it into the back of your mind. You can hear groups talking but you don't really discern each conversation unless you are called for through the link, then the conversation becomes clearer. It's easier to handle in wolf form than human form, but it'll just be something you get used to," Carver said, kissing the tip of Kai's nose. Kai smiled before kissing Carver's lips, the two chasing one another's mouths. Carver growled, moving so that he caged Kai beneath him, fully taking over Kai's mouth with his.
Kai sighed happily, back arching, feeling heat and sharper sparks flit through his body. Kai whimpered at the throbbing, dull ache between his legs, slick starting to bead from him the moment Carver's tongue dominated his. Their kiss broke with a suckling sound from their parting, Carver's nose gliding along Kai's neck with a deep, low rumble coming from his chest.
"Your scent smells so good. What is that?" Carver whispered, licking at the mating gland in the crook of Kai's neck. Kai shuttered hard at that, rubbing his thighs together with Carver's legs on either side of his.
Carver! You and sweet Kai need to come down for breakfast. I need Kai's help with making all the food for the early winter barbeque! Adam's voice coming through their heads, Kai feeling the sharpening of the pack link when his name of was mentioned (almost like a call), before the pack link went sort of fuzzy and in the back of his mind again like white noise. Carver grumbled, pressing his forehead to Kai's who kissed his lips softly again and again, Carver nipping his bottom lip.
We'll be down soon, dad, Carver bemoaned, Kai wanting to giggle at how grumpy he sounded. Even though Carver hadn't said his name, when Carver spoke it was just as sharp. He wondered if it was because they were mates.
"I guess we have to get dressed," Carver sighed, pouting at Kai who bit his lip to stop a laugh.
"My sweet wolfy," Kai smiled, kissing Carver languid and warm for a moment before pulling back, "up!"
Kai nearly had tears in his eyes when his family was already at the dining table with droopy eyes and content scents. Tyler was sleepily yawning with half closed eyes, eating some pancakes that Conner was feeding him. The dark blonde looked at peace as he fed Tyler, his eyes watching everything Tyler did. Raven had his head partially tucked under Ethan's jaw with his eyes closed, snuffling against his neck cutely every now and again while Ethan drank a warm cup of coffee. Only Amilya appeared to be as awake as Kai, quietly chatting with Leon, the two sharing nose nuzzles and soft kisses.
"Oh! Just in time, loves!" Adam bustling over with several plates heaped with pancakes, he hurried about setting cut up fruit, syrup, butter, peanut butter, Nutella, and a mound of scrambled eggs.
"Thank you, L-Luna Adam," Kai said shyly and softly, peeking up at the man who seemed to quietly squeal at him.
"You are very welcome, little one," Adam gushed, tugging Kai to him to give him a big hug. Carver huffed at that, nabbing Kai from his dad who pouted at him.
