When the snow stopped forcing itself against me I focused on my power and melted the snow away from me, using the heat of electricity. I gasped for air when I finally got to the point where I was no longer buried. I shivered as I crawled the rest of my way out. I looked around, but couldn't see anyone for miles around. Then I remembered something from the prophecy: A river of snow will try to drown, they must be found before sundown.

I shivered and thought about it for a moment. "Who needs to be found?" I said to myself. My eyes widened in realization. "Chase!" I yelped.

I looked up at the sun. Judging by where it was I had an hour till sundown, someone buried in snow only has an hour to live. I walked around the area, looking for any sign of Chase. "Chase!" I called out. I stopped in my tracks when I saw one of his swords sticking out of the ground, I picked it up and looked around to see if he was near by. I didn't see him so I started digging around the area where I found the sword. Nothing.

"Chase!" I called out again.

I dug my way through the snow, stopping a moment to see what time I had left. Time was flying by quickly and I became frantic. I dug and melted snow and called out his name. I was getting ready to give up, it almost seem hopeless. I fell to my knees balled my hands into fist. I thought about my mother, she had died for my cause, now Chase? "No." I said to myself. "Not another one, it won't happen again."

I got up and went back to work. As the sun began dip into the horizon I finally found a hand. "Oh gods, please let that be Chase." I said. I dug some more and revealed his face. It was Chase! "Chase!" I yelped excitedly. I dug the rest of him out, as soon as he was completely out of the snow the sun had officially set. I check his pulse. He was unconscious, but he was still alive. "Oh thank the gods." I sighed.

I took off my coat and wrapped him up in it. I dug a snow shelter then gathered some wood and made a fire to keep Chase warm. I kept watch, sitting by him through the whole night, hoping he would wake up soon.

The ground started shaking again, I ran outside to see what it was, something nearby had just set an evergreen on fire. I stared at it for moment before going back inside the shelter I made.

Chase groaned softly.

My attention snapped to him. "Chase?" I said, hopefully.

He didn't respond.

I sighed and turned my gaze back to the entrance. I moved closer to the fire to try to get my clothes dry and warm myself up. "I hope he wakes up soon, I'm not looking forward to hauling him around." I muttered to myself.

"I'm the one that is gonna be hauling you around." he said, sitting up and rubbing his head.

I looked at him and my face lit up. "You're alright!" I exclaimed. Without even thinking, I threw my arms around him. I was so relieved to see he was alright.

He tensed a little underneath me but laid one of his hands on my back, holding me against him gently. "I'm not going to die that easily." he chuckled.

I pulled back and punched him in the arm. "Don't you ever scare me like that again." I said.

"I told you to run..." he said.

"Well there was ice on the ground. I couldn't control that."

"No, when I was fighting Nyx." he said.

"Oh, that." I said with low voice.

He just stared at me with an expectant look, waiting on an explanation.

"I-I couldn't..." I sighed.

"Why not?" he asked.

"My mother died for my cause and I did nothing. I couldn't let someone else die for my cause, knowing I ran away like a coward." I said, gazing into the flames of the fire.
