Y/N's P.O.V
I walked to school with Bianca and Sheri on Tuesday morning, happy to vent to somebody about my run in yesterday with Montgomery. We'd stopped at Monet's on the way, carrying steaming cups of hot chocolate as we waltzed through the cold. I wasn't sure what to make of the situation, but the girls had plenty to say.
"Oooooh! A possible love interest might finally be on the horizon for you Y/N" giggled Bianca dreamily. I swear that girl was more concerned with my love life than her own.
"Um that'll be a no" I replied definitely "Something about a hot-headed jock isn't screaming boyfriend material to me"
"Smart move, Y/N. Monty is bad news" said Sheri linking her arms with mine and Bianca's as we neared the school gates.
"Tell me about it" I said, rolling my eyes.
"But he's cuuuuuuute" pouted Bianca, protesting "You should let loose a little see what happens. Have a little fun,"
"Sure just not with him"
"People like Montgomery get reputations for a reason. Stay away from him Y/N. I don't want you getting hurt"
"I'm not going to argue with you there Sheri"
"YOU TWO ARE BORING" joked Bianca sticking her tongue out and dumping the remaining hot chocolate into a bin. " Gotta go! I've got calculus, kill me now, See you guys at lunch" We watched her skip away in her own little world, her bag pack slouching off of one shoulder, Justin Foley trailing after her like a lost puppy.
"I worry about her you know," I said to Sheri as we walked to physics.
"Yeah me too"
The day was blissfully uneventful up until lunch time, no unnecessary drama, no arrogant teenage boys assaulting me with balls of paper, just plain old boring normality. I kinda enjoyed it for once. I had set out my lunch in the library, where me Sheri and Bianca would study most of the time, and was halfway through some biology notes when two figures bustled through the doors and ran towards me. Sheri and Jeff hauled me from the library, panic written all over their faces.
"It's Jessica and Bianca," hissed Jeff.
"Jessica?" Until recently Jessica had been my best friend and the four of us girls had been inseparable. That was until Hannah's death, when Jessica started to distance herself from us, drinking excessively and ditching school to hang around with Bryce. I was genuinely scared for her.
"Yeah" Sheri began "They're having a full on catfight. I get the feeling its going to get ugly,"
"Oh Bianca" I knew exactly what she was like, she always seemed to stumble into situations on account of her ditsy nature. I pushed through the crowd in the cafeteria, trying to get to my two friends. I looked on in disgust as the table of jocks seemed to be filming the whole thing.
"Jess I think you're over reacting a little,"
"OVER REACTING! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE MY FRIEND"
"I am your friend Jessica. So just sit down and stop drawing attention to yourself"
'WHY? ARE YOU EMBARRASSED OF ME?" Enough was enough, I needed to break this up.
"Whoa whoa whoa guys. Come on calm down. Come with me to the library. We'll sort this out there. In private,"I shot a unamused look to the boys. They both completely ignored me.
'HE'S MY EX. YOU SHOULDN'T BE LETTING HIM FOLLOW YOU ROUND. WHAT PART OF FRIENDSHIP DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?"
"Well you haven't exactly been the best friend recently now have you?"
