Monty, that's the most pathetic attempt I've ever seen" I snorted, looking over at the boy sat at my dining room table, trying to re-arrange the cutlery he'd just scattered all over the floor

He had attempted to balance a spoon on his nose whilst I put the bacon under the grill and make us breakfast.

It was fair to say he had failed miserably.

"I'd like to see you do any better," He scoffed. "Catch!"

He threw a spoon in my general direction which I grabbed, plonking myself down beside him.

"Watch and learn loser" I said, balancing it perfectly on my nose on the first try.

A triumphant grin slowly spread across my lips, the spoon balancing was my one and only party trick and it had taken years of dedication to make sure it stayed where it was, perched at the end of my nose  Well. It was until Monty took it from me and tapped it gently on my bottom lip.

"Well well well" He said clapping slowly "You're nearly as good as Dempsey"

I gasped in mock disgust.

"Bitch! Everything that boy knows, he learnt it from me! In the food hall, kindergarten, Mrs Jone's class" I stood up laughing but Monty brought me back down towards him, pulling me onto his lap.

"Oh really?" He asked.

"You better believe it" I replied, but my voice was more hushed than before.

He moved his head slowly closer to mine until his lips rested on my Cupid's bow. I shuddered

"Teach me" he whispered.

For a second I faltered.

For a second.

"NOPE NOPE NOPEDY NOPE!" I laughed jumping up "We aren't doing this again Monty! You have breakfast to eat and school to go to, your suspensions over. Now stop being such a smooth fucking distraction."

I ran back and checked on the bacon, putting a few slices of bread in the toaster.

"But w..." He started to object.

I spun round pointing a spatula directly at him.

"Do you want food or what?"

He shut up.

"Hey Y/n" He said eventually, as I grabbed a tub of butter from the fridge.

"Montgomery"

I took a knife from in front of him and made my way back to the toaster taking out the toast and beginning to butter it.

"You know when we get back towards school?"

"Hmm" I said, not really listening, slowly working my way through the stack of bread.

"Do you mind if we... you know... umm kinda walk separately. So that people don't really see us together"

I was fucking listening to that alright.

I whipped my neck over my shoulder.

"Excuse me?" I said through gritted teeth, trying my best not to look hostile. Maybe I was jumping to conclusions? Maybe I'd just completely misinterpreted that sentence.

I stopped buttering the toast.

I think he noticed.

"Yeah, it's no big deal. You probably don't want your friends to see you with me and I don't want the guys to see us either"
