Chapter 28. Clear My Name

Nemesis kicked her legs back and forth, her hands resting on her dusty, rickety bed.

It's been a complete week since she's been in prison and it stunk.

They give the prisoners bad food, short visits, and not to mention the irritating cellmate.

"Dojiri? You mind lowering the volume? It's kind of annoying. To me and the rest of us." Nemesis gestured to the other teenagers in the other cells.

Dojiri Meirifu was Nemesis' cellmate. She was annoying, always sneaking gum in the cell so she can chew on it obnoxiously. She got into juvi because she was stealing cars, doing drugs, and drinking alcohol. She thought she was all badass because of it, so she bragged about it to the other prisoners during lunch in the cafeteria. Little did she know, that only got more people to dislike her.

At the moment, the blonde girl was singing obnoxiously on the top bunk.

"Sorry, Miri. But, my friends want to hear me sing," she jumped off the top bunk and walked to the bars to look at the others, "right?"

"No." The other prisoners replied in perfect unison.

"I'm taking that as a yes. How deep is your love? Is it like the ocean-"

"Please, Dojiri. We're trying to go to sleep." Nemesis whined.

"No, thanks."

"Dojiri! What do I have to do to get you to shut the hell up?"

"Fight me. See if I care."

"With pleasure."

Nemesis lunged at Dojiri and pinned her down.

She threw some punches before standing up and kicking her in the gut.

"Are you gonna shut up now!?" Nemesis glared.

"What's going on here?" Officer Rikufu barged into the cell.

"She attacked me!" Dojiri replied. "For no good reason either!"

"She gave me her permission. She literally said "fight me." Ask them! They witnessed!" Nemesis motioned to the other prisoners and nodded.

"Dojiri was singing obnoxiously and Nemesis asked nicely twice for her to stop so we can go to sleep but Dojiri said no. Nemesis asked what she had to do to shut up and Dojiri said to fight her. And that's exactly what Nemesis did. In her defence, Nemesis was trying to help us sleep." Tokimiku Jikishita, an acquaintance of Nemesis', reported.

"Thank you, Toki." Nemesis said.

"What have I been telling you Tokimiku? Her name is not Nemesis. It's Mirikato. And that is what you will call her." Officer Rikufu scolded.

"Mirikato prefers to be called Nemesis and I won't disrespect her wishes." Tokimiku said.

Tokimiku gave Nemesis a reassuring smile and looked at the officer, her short raven hair bobbing a bit when she tilted her head mockingly with a taunting smirk.

"Mirikato Rikichi and Dojiri Meirifu. Follow me please." Officer Rikufu cuffed them and grabbed them by their cuffes, leading them to an office.

"Chief Tushimo. These two got into a fight. Again."

Nemesis explained what happened, Dojiri putting in her own details.

"Dojiri Meirifu, stay in here. Mirikato Rikichi, you have visitors. A physical contact visit."

"I-I do..?"

"It's next door. Officer Rikufu, would you escort her to the visiting room?"

"Yes, Chief Tushimo. Follow me, Mirikato."

Nemesis' cuffes were taken off as Officer Rikufu opened a door, revealing Ayano, Oka, Mitsuki, and Info-chan.

"Hey, idiot." Ayano smiled smugly.

Nemesis ran over to them and hugged them.

"I'm sorry I'm being so sentimental. It's only been a week. But..." Nemesis held onto Info-chan, sobbing on her black shirt.

"It's okay." Mitsuki rubbed her back.

"We're clearing you name." Info-chan said.

"Tomorrow, you're out of here." Oka smiled.

"Thank you. Ayano, this is how you're paying up." Nemesis glared at her with a smile on her face.

"What are you talking about?" Ayano asked.

"I helped save Oka. This is how you're paying up."

"Fine. Tomorrow, you go straight to my house, okay? Info-chan will be here to pick you up."

"Thank you. All of you."

"You're welcome."

"Thanks, Info-chan." Nemesis and Info-chan were walking home. Info-chan hacked into the police headquarters and cleared her name. So, Nemesis was free to leave.

"I'll tell you something, Mirikato. My real name is Kitolomo. But I swear to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph that you're dead if you tell anyone." Info-chan glared.

"No promises."

Info-chan rolled her eyes and opened the door to the house.

"We're home!" Info-chan shut the door behind Nemesis and locked it.

"Hey, Kitolomo. I have to ask you something."

"Don't call me Kitolomo. But what is it?"

"Will you go out with me?"
