Chapter 14. Hello, Mr. Higaku

Oka and Ayano were walking home from school. It was Monday and every club member from every club were exiting the school because the teachers kicked them all out.

Budo and his club were heading to his house to celebrate something. Probably not important.

The Science Club went to Haruto's house because he claims his project is done.

The Light Music Club went their separate ways home as the Cooking Club went to visit their former president in jail.

"Bye, Oka. See you tomorrow!" Shin waved, giving Ayano a glance that had a hint of jealosuy.

That jerk thought he could get away with that? Honestly, is he that stupid? He wants my Oka. He's not worthy enough to be Oka's love. She's too good for him! Ayano thought in her head.

Oka noticed Shin and decided to brush it off and pretended she didn't see anything.

It was probably nothing. Maybe I'm hallucinating.

Ayano wrapped her arm around Oka and kissed her cold lips before Shin could start on his way walking.

Shin crossed his arms, trying to be nonchalant and walked away.

She smirked and walked all the way home with a cold Oka under her wing.

Ayano unlocked the door and took Oka's bag off, put it on the floor, and put her own pack next to Oka's.

Ayano wrapped her arms around Oka's waist and rested her head on Oka's.

"Have I told you how much you mean to me? About all the happiness you bring? That you mean the world to me? Just in case I haven't, I want you to know that... You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." Ayano smiled.

"I'm glad to know that." Oka smiled to herself and escaped Ayano's grasp to kiss her.

Ayano smiled into the kiss and twisted her finger around a strand of Oka's midnight blue hair.

They parted away from each other at the same time and hugged each other.

"I love you." They said at the same time.

Ding, dong.

"I'll get it. You just rest and stay right here, love." She pushed Oka to the couch.

Oka sat down hesitantly as Ayano opened the door.

"Oh. Hi, Shin. Can I help you?" Ayano put on a fake smile.

"Uhm, yeah. I-Is Oka here?" He asked, trying to be nonchalant.

"She's here. Why do you ask?" Ayano raised and eyebrow.

"I'll just wanted to hang out, that's all." Shin shrugged.

"Come in." Ayano said, praying that he didn't do anything funny.

"Is there anything I can get you?" Ayano offered.

"N-No, thanks." He sat down on the couch next to Oka.

Ayano looked in her refridgerator.

"N-No! It can't be!" Ayano shook her head and groaned in agony.

"Nemesis!" She called from the bottom of the stairs.

Nemesis moved in since Ayano was "cool" with her now. They were more frienemies than enemies or friends.

"Did you eat all the musubis!? Again!?" She practically screamed from the top of her lungs.

"Maybe!" Nemesis called from upstairs with a sleepy tone.

"Why, you little..." Ayano muttered and ran up the stairs.

Oka giggled. "They've been like this ever since Nemesis moved in and I'm used to it already."

"When did she move in?" Shin asked.

"Two days ago." Oka sighed.

Shin laughed nervously. "R-Really? And you're already settled in?"

"Mhmm." Oka nodded.

"That jerk... Oka, I'm heading out for a few minutes. Nemesis is sick so if she starts calling you, ignore her." Ayano instructed.

"In other words, help Nemesis." Oka muttered under her breath and kissed Ayano goodbye.

Shin shifted uncomfortably.

Ayano left.

"Stay here for a sec. I'm going to see if she needs anything." Oka ran up the stairs.

Shin looked around. He noticed a bunch of photos on a wall and examined most of them.

Every picture had a little girl with dark gray hair.

And in all of them, she wasn't smiling.

Ayano didn't smile even when she was a little girl.

There was a picture that was looked new. And it was pretty obvious that it was new too.

It was Oka and Ayano with Nemesis. Oka was holding the camera and Ayano had an arm wrapped around her, leaving Nemesis awkwardly smiling.

A wave of jealousy ran through him.

"Boo!" Oka shook his shoulders.

"Woah! Oka... You scared me." Shin muttered.

"Sorry. Ayano and Nemesis keep doing that to me so..." Oka shrugged.

"Mm..." Shin sat down on the couch.

"Was their a particular reason why you came?" Oka asked him.

"Well, Oka... Ayano seems dangerous. She literally made you cut her. Next thing you know, she's gonna start telling you to cut Kokuma. Or even Chojo an-"

"First of all, that was weeks ago. Second of all, she would never do that." Oka argued.

"What makes you think that? She's obviously a kuudere. She could kill any of us and not have a bit of sympa-"

"She has emotions! She loves me! She's happy! She cries! She gets angry at manga and anime! She is not a kuudere! She cares about people! Why can't you understand that!?" Oka raised her voice.

"She only cares about you. Not others. But I... I care about people. Especially you. You'd be much safer with me." He scooted next to her.

Oka blinked.

"I'm as safe as I'll ever be." Oka's breathing started getting heavier.

"That's not true, darling." He lifted her chin so she was looking at him.

Oka gulped and shook her head, looking away from him.

He put his hands on her face and forcefully made her look at him, which kinda hurt.

She winced under her breath, Shin not hearing a thing.

"I love you, Oka. And I don't understand why you won't love me back." Shin attempted to sound seductive.

Ayano: Okay, I lied. One more interruption for this chapter. *insert black girl voice* Mister, 'reason why she don't love ya is because she be in love with me. And only me. Capiché? *insert normal voice* Okay, that was the last one. Enjoy the rest of the chapter.

"I-I don't love you because-"

Shin kissed her, causing her to get him off. Her strength was failing her. Either that or he was just to strong.

Just to make things worse, Ayano walked in.
